^^^^^This 10000% The release of tension into sheer ecstasy is what football is all about. Not many things in life can do that. One of those moments that you will always remember exactly where you were and who you were with etc. Bit like MLT last goal at the Dell. Sheer, sheer ecstasy .
Agreed, though I'd wager there would have been more than a few who would have been disappointed had Chrissy #footballgenius Marsden's shot against Arsenal at the Dell in 2001 gone in...
Yeah it's all good, I've fallen out with most people on here at some point or other, all fun n games really. I still remember when we met in the pub, we were speaking trying to working each other out but neither of us were sure enough to let on that we were meeting a bunch of randomers from the Internet I think I ended up asking if you were local to make sure in the end, not sure though. What game was it, Inter? If so I was well on my way iirc...
I celebrated when Boufal scored his wonderful solo effort last season against West Brom ...big goal ...much needed 3 points.
For anyone under about 60 I guess this will seem odd, but the way you found out results back in the day (when we all kicked off at 3.00 on a Saturday as the football gods intended) was to pick up a hastily printed copy of the local paper as you left the ground. I used to do the 8 draws on the Pools (Google it). Saints at home to Wolves was a banker for a draw, and with seconds left the game stood at 1-1. Some young bugger who'd only just broken into the team ran past 78 Wolves defenders (I may have lost count) and steered the ball into the bottom corner for a late winner. Cue massive celebration. As I checked my results I discovered that Channon had just cost me a fortune. My auto-biography is to be titled "Mick Channon Ruined My Life"
My least celebrated goal that I can remember was Saints 3rd on Boxing Day 2009. I love a good 3-1 from those days as much as anyone, but I also had a bet on Saints to win 2-1 and Bournemouth to win with any score that would net £400. What was worse was the guy behind me celebrating that he had a bet on 3-1! Some blasts from the past on that team sheet, including Pablo Waigo (well done BBC) and it was some consolation to find out afterwards Bournemouth only drew I think. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/8416492.stm
Some goal where we were getting dicked and scored a consolation, there will have been many but I can't think of one off the top of my head. I was lying on my sofa watching the Saints Liverpool game when Long scored, don't think I reacted really as we were going through anyway
Actually, come to think of it those were my 3 against Bournemouth at Dean Court were the least celebrated Saints goals ever when I have been at the match. I was sitting amongst the Bournemouth players families and all i could muster was a smile
