Cheltenham Festival tagline

I see that this term the old Cheltenham Festival is being marketed under the tagline ‘Four days of Extraordinary’. Seems very dull, bland and downright uninspiring to me so the question must be asked, of the membership, what would your tagline be re the 2019 Cheltenham Festival??? Try to keep it to 3-5 words as any more and it becomes less a tagline and more ‘War and Peace’.

Mine would be ‘Let’s Hear it for Hendo’. What wonderful imagines such words present as it highlights the most instantly recognisable figure in our sport, echoes the wonderful support he always has from all sections of society (i.e. rapturous backing) and furthermore inspires us into believing and hoping that he will be successful, once again, at the meet. Because to quote that much used Festival phrase, ‘A booming meet for Lieutenant Henderson is a booming meet for us all’. Cor blimey how rousing are these 5 magical words?!? Very, say I.

Plus, it evokes the most wonderful sight at Cheltenham. Namely The Lieutenant promenading from the ‘Owners and Trainers Bar’ to the Paddock and then back again.

That’s mine so what is your tagline re the 2019 Cheltenham Festival???

I never really got the whole St Patrick's thursday thing when it falls on a different day every year.Still only abit of fun I suppose!

Talking of what Cheltenham should call things I note that in the current edition of ‘The Weekender’ one writer suggests remonikering ‘Trials Day’, as he says it is anything but a good guide, ‘The January Meeting’. Seems a bit harsh to me as Mister Whitaker did the double last term and Big Buck’s won the ‘Cleeve’ twice.

Anyone think there is anything likely to run tomorrow who will win at the Festival in March??? You don’t have to tip it to win, of the morrow, incidentally as horses have been beaten at tomorrow’s meeting and then obliged at the Festival on plenty of occasions in the past.
