Before the then England game a welsh man called mike dye got murdered by some English thugs. This makes me ashamed to be an England fan right now. I meen fans with passion that's fine but does it need to go as far as killing each other. It's dispicable. Thoughts go to his family and I hope they catch the bastards that did this.
marcus - I've read reports and I'm not going to post links, however, your detail in regards to his assailants appears to be incorrect.
To back up brb's post, it seems from various media sources you couldn't be further from the truth over the perpetrators in this case.
i think we all jumped to the saem conclusion when we read the story (unfort its the reputation england fans still are burdened with) however all the media reports do clearly state this wasn't an inter fan thing, even between the welsh fans
I think you should look into the story before you post something like that. I'm a passionate England supporter and get pissed off with the reputation we have. I follow England home and away and it's almost always the opposition supporters kicking off but England fans retaliate and then get the bad press. Wales away was full of Swansea and Cardiff fans just turning up to fight each other. If this incident was the same then I have no sympathy for any of them.
Sorry it's just that was what I was picking up from the news. It just makes me enoyed that people kill people over silly little things ie football. I have nothing wrong with passionate supporters and I think of myself as one for club and country but there's a fine line between passion and thug.
Its a sad occasion if he was a genuine supporter going to the match. If he was a lowlife thug then hopefully all the other idiots who fall into that category will take note. Have to feel for his family either way though.
