Have read so much about Will Grigg in the past couple of weeks and now it seems to have been confirmed he is a target. My question to all is will he be able to do the business in this league and the championship if we manage to get promoted. I have my doubts. Are we being too cautious financially and should we at this stage of the season given our position in the league, not be looking at players that can do a job in the championship.

He'd do till the end of the season but if we went up his he use will be served. Rumour is Wigan want the million they paid for him back. I think it's too expensive personally.

We need to get out of this league before we can think of the Championship.

Will he help with that - undoubtedly.

    Exactly mate.

I think it’s obvious Sartori will come into play should we go up and there’ll be an overhaul, so right now we need out of the little leagues.

That’s not guaranteed with the stuttering, a player who scores for fun in this league and we have less 1-1 draws you’d think.

His chant would be mint with 30k plus crowds as well.

Of course. The winner of the league cup get £100,000 so they’ll definitely pay the winners of this a million! ****wit

Just done a bit of digging and apparently these are the numbers. Not bad money for it and stacks up well with the league cup for prize money. Not a Mill like!

    Participation fee: £20k
Group Stage: £10k for a win and £5k for a draw
Round two: £20k for a win
Round three: £40k for a win
    Quarter-final: £50k for a win
    Runner-up: £50k
    Winner: £100k

So we've got £20k fee, £25k from group stages, £110k for 3 knockout matches and then see what happens. £145k plus some gate receipts then so far.

Main thing is we'e in a semi final and Watmore back, confidence boost for Gooch and some young uns looking good and getting more experience. All good really, winning it would be great for this squad and the club at this time I reckon

I've said from the start that I'd love us to win this cup, I don't care if it's not a prestigious one it's silverware and if we got to Wembley it'd be the same atmosphere as when we played City albeit with less pre match razzmatazz. Once the whistle blew we'd want it just as much.

Did you know that Grigg is 4th choice at Wigan. Behind ex Sunderland striker James Vaughan.

On yesterday’s game, I thought Ethan Robson brought a whole new dynamic to our play. Let’s hope he can get into the team and make attacking CM his own position.

Did you see the numbers on the Man City bairns team. Some in the 90’s
It must have been their 6th or 7th team out there and they all looked good.

Wyke has also got history at scoring at this level, but has yet to fulfill his potential..

They looked tidy but good? Not sure about that. Benno pressed on this and I agree with the big bugger. He said yes their passing looked impressove, but freestyle footballers impress him the way they keep the ball up. Doesn't mean either are good footballers and are going to make it.

Man city were flat as a fart and wouldn't have scored if they'd played till next week. Did our keeper even have a save to make? That man city team lacked dimention. The same way McGeouch has no dimension to his game. One trick ponys, pass it neatly but can't break down the final third. Nice and tidy but no forward penertration, no ideas, nobody with the skills to break us down. This is why I was glad we drew them and said from the off we got the easiest draw.
