As saint rightly said it is a contact sport so we shouldn't get all wound up when there is contact. For me, there's a big difference between what I call argy-bargy contact and shin kicking, wrestling and turning a player. We have it all and we love to talk about it. The worrying thing is trying to besmirch one player. Have Kane or Dele ever made headlines for diving?

That's not how the media treat anyone but Salah though. Salah is always "yes there's contact and it's a foul but he still went down too easily for me". Anyone else is "well you can't touch someone in the box... he's been clever... don't give the referee a decision to make... he's anticipating contact..."

Harry Kane MBE is offside, tries to force contact, misses and still dives, and the media call it [HASHTAG]#nailedon[/HASHTAG] because they want interviews with him (for some reason)

Salah should start blacklisting journalists and we send VVD instead:

Pogba wants more money to reflect his player-manager status

£510k/week

I don’t think he is diving but he is definitely exaggerating
I really don’t get why this keeps raising its head as an argument though.
No one bothers about all the other cheating that goes on on a pitch
GKs dive and feign injury persistantly
Defenders dive persistently
Players call for corners/throws
Players handle the ball knowingly
My favourites shoulder barges vs shoving and shielding vs obstruction
It only wrong if Utd do it :)

What's funny is though if it were a United or Everton player the majority on here would be making the arguments those supporters are making about Salah and the majority of them (United & Everton supporters) would be defending them with the same arguments as we are making.

Its quite amusing that the line between acceptable and unacceptable behaviour on a football field is decided based on the shirt they wear.

Not a dig at anyone just an observation!

I was honest though
See my last line :)

GK's jumping with one leg extended so a boot of studs is facing the oppo forward.
players constantly ignoring the ball and just sticking leg in front of oppo players to pretend they were "protecting" the ball and getting FKs for it.
Players deliberately "tipping" over players who have jumped for an aerial ball - just a matter of time before there is a serious injury but no on seems bothered by it.

Those are manly pursuits though.

nobody one Europe thinks twice about a dive.

it's English to think one is cheating and the other dangerous stuff is part of game.

Back in the day, when football was a mans sport, tipping (making a back) was a definite no no. You could kick **** out of each other but this was seen as potentially life threatening (broken neck) and was punished every time by both ref and other players.
These days it just never seems to get mentioned at all.

Kevin De Bruyne claims Liverpool will be deserved champions if they beat his Manchester City side in the title race.

Liverpool have ridden their luck at key moments this season, including benefitting from a gaffe by rarely-used No3 keeper Julian Speroni in a dramatic 4-3 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

De Bruyne says every side enjoys good fortune though — and champions City’s opener in their 3-0 win over Huddersfield 24 hours later was a deflected goal, while their third was offside.

The Belgium star says his Blues will have to acknowledge Liverpool were better if they do win the Premier League, even if it means the Blues end up with the most points ever for a runner-up.

This happy chappie never misses a photo opportunity even when he's about to be given a £16m fine for tax evasion in Spain.
