We play with the wingers cutting in on there other foot so he's more likely to be a replacement for Bowen than anyone
Depends how you see it but to me Pugh would be cover for Bowen. Adkins has our wide players "inverted", left footer on the right wing, right footer on the left. Im assuming Adkins see's Milinkovic as cover for Grosicki.
Decent player .... but hardly a priority ... unless .... yep. Add a similar quality & experienced CB, and a quality CF, and I'd be very happy. Could be an interesting week, given Nige is expected 2-3 before the weekend.
Pugh would be a good addition, just hope he is an addition and not a replacement for either one of the dynamic duo.
Hull City hope to conclude their first signing of the transfer window inside the next 24 hours after agreeing a deal to land Bournemouth winger Marc Pugh. The 31-year-old is undergoing a medical with the Tigers today and, barring any complications, will join City’s push for promotion to the Premier League. Head coach Nigel Adkins has made it clear he wants to sign three new players ahead of the deadline next week, including a winger that would add cover and competition for star men Kamil Grosicki and Jarrod Bowen. Pugh has been told he is allowed to leave Bournemouth this month after only featuring in Carabao Cup and FA Cup ties and City have offered a fresh start in East Yorkshire. please log in to view this image Bournemouth winger Marc Pugh in action against Leicester City in the Premier League last season (Image: Getty) The experienced winger has been with the Cherries since 2010, racking up over 300 appearances and winning promotions out of League One and the Championship. Pugh has not played in the Premier League since last May but scored when playing the full 90 minutes in Bournemouth’s FA Cup third round defeat at home to Brighton two weeks ago. Having started out his career with Burnley, Pugh has also enjoyed spells at Bury, Shrewsbury and Hereford. Adkins will remain in the market for a new defender ahead of Saturday’s trip to Blackburn Rovers and is also searching for a centre-forward to replace Will Keane, who joined Ipswich on loan this month.
Pugh's an odd one, not from our point of view as we clearly need some depth as after Bowen, Turbo and Milinkovic we've no real wing options, but for him I can't understand why anyone would leave a Prem team's bench to go sit on a championship teams bench.
Good signing Pugh reading all the positive comments by Bournemouth fans. Experience at this stage of the season is exactly what we need.
Can he bring Tyrone Mings, defender from Bournemouth with him, a kind of logof/bogof deal?!! Come on Tyrone, you've seen the rest, come to the best, one of the best run clubs …… Sky SN VILLA, WBA TARGET MINGS Aston Villa and West Brom are preparing to battle it out for the signature of Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings, according to the Daily Mail.
Adkins has already said that Elphick is definitely staying at Villa, there's no chance of him coming back.
Looks very similar type player to Bowen, runs at defenders, gets in the right place in the area and can use both feet and his head. Free kick and penalty taker too.
Maybe he'll bring his twin brother. And his mate Barney McGrew. Could do with his colleagues Cuthbert, Dibble and Grubb anarl. Decent back 3 them. Good in any firefighting situations.
