Toon star target for China Newcastle could face pressure to keep hold of Joselu, as the striker is subject to interest from the Chinese Super League. Calciomercato report that club side Tianjin Teda are in talks with the Premier League club over signing the 28-year-old this month. Joselu is a regular feature in the Toon first team, but boss Rafa Benitez could move him on to raise funds for the transfer kitty. If he goes I would wish him all the best as he’s always given 100%. If he goes I would hope without expecting a replacement to come in. On that front http://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2019/01/2...rrives-in-england-for-talks-with-nufc-report/
Tbh i think playing up front on your own in a side that rarely has more than 40% possession is a tough ask.
I agree, mine is so much more informative whilst retaining an appropriate level of humour. So are you going to delete your feeble effort?
Pressure to keep him? He’s pants and thought you guys would be happy to see him go? Bit like headline for us recrntly where we ‘face losing moreno’ as he targets move after his contract expires... yeah, not like we want him to leave then
He's trash, one of the worst strikers we've had in the past couple of decades and can't do anything right. Only very poor opposition let him even have a sniff to be honest.
He's done well for a bloke who cost £5 million and has helped us close out games on a number of occasions. Unfortunately he's probably not at a level to be your number 2 Premiership striker. The problem is, if I knew we'd replace him with a £10/15 million striker who can challenge / offer something different to Rondon then I'd be happy to sell him. However, would we?
Destro has had his moments in Serie A, scoring 29 in 68 games for Roma several years ago, but he’s doing little to impress in Italy these days. He turns 28 in a few months time, hasn’t scored all season for Bologna and has just 25 goals across his last three seasons in Italy – suggesting he’s anything but the proven scorer needed at Newcastle right now. Unless he’s Joselu’s replacement (with the Spaniard now linked with a shock move to China), I think I’d steer well clear of Destro. #Bologna flop Mattia Destro has reportedly sent his agent to England for talks with #WestHam and Newcastle United https://t.co/W2ecLm7JiL #WHUFC #NUFC pic.twitter.com/10PycgdHXx — footballitalia (@footballitalia) January 20, 2019 Might be too good for us.
I'm starting to wonder if we only got Ki and Muto because there was little competition from other teams. Feel like everybody else steered clear because of the Asia cup being this season. We do like these kind of players, used to be ****ting it every AFCON aswell
Not sure why Rafa is targeting Destro. Regardless of budgets etc, that seems stupid as he is ****e and can't hit barn door. In terms of Joselu, it was just a very poor purchase. I can't fault the lad himself as he gives 100% every time. He tries his level best and I think that is all you can ask of a player. I keep seeing that he has done well for £5m. He hasn't for me. He's gash and couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. Its not his fault but it was another poor purchase and another 5m of a miniscule budget just pissed away. We have got to start being more sensible with the little cash we get. Instead of trying to have a fuller squad of **** players, why doesn't Rafa take the Pardew approach of having a small squad susceptible to injuries, but having better players. Then use young players to fill the gaps. We will have to endure to bad spells but it served us well under Pardew as we never looked like getting relegated most years. Given Rafa is a far better manager and seems to have the physio room functioning way better, I reckon we would take a step forward straight away. We spread ourselves too thin and I know Rafa is not keen on bringing through young players, but having a view a few this season, they are no worse than the crap he is buying anyway. We'd all love a better budget. However it doesn't look likely so a priority is making sure we improve to make the use of the current parameters.
I can't accept the award as its already been trumped when someone said "I don't think Rafa has done that well in the transfer market"
Pinched from Twitter... Salomón Rondón puts the ball out for a throw in rather than score an easy goal and it's "great sportsmanship". Joselu does the same every match and he gets abuse. Sick of these double standards.
