Second that! It brings back the emotions watching it. THAT NOISE! So glad I got to experience it. Impossible to explain to other non R's what it was like, it was a rare and very special moment in sport in general.
I am so sad!. I have already watched it at least 5 times. Fantastic day, fantastic noise, fantastic all round. I was walking on clouds for 3 months afterwards Thank you Bobby.... Happy Birthday
Wanted tickets on halfway line, forget the cost - sold out....☹ Ended up right behind the strike.... Happy birthday OBZ thank you for my greatest memory!!
I was behind the camera gantry on the halfway line when that famous ( for us anyway ) clip was filmed. I was in he Club Wembley seats on the middle tier. So every time I get to see it, I get to see Bobby's goal from my actual viewpoint. 89 minutes and 57 seconds of total boredom to compete ecstasy in a split second and wtf one moment in time of trying to process what just happened against all odds. This sort of thing never happens to us. It's a shame we ****ed it up afterwards though. Especially when other ill equipped sides like Watford, Palace, Burnley, Huddersfield and Bournemouth have done what we couldn't do since, which is stay in the Premier League.
I think I may have said before it was the weekend I moved house down here in Cornwall! We had no TV and certainly no Sky sorted! My darling husband had found the radio in amongst all the boxes, so I could at least listen whilst unpacking boxes in my kitchen with my step daughter and her boyfriend who I had only met for first time the day before! (They had come down from London for our house move) When we scored I ran into the garden screaming my head off! Not sure the boyfriend ever got over it, he has never visited again! Not a great introduction to my new neighbours, fortunately don't think they held it against me! Oh what a day!!!
Bit late, but happy birthday OBZ. Memories of that goal give me as much pleasure as memories of Clive's knee rebound at the Library.
I'll always have a soft spot for Gary O'Neill too. Firstly for sacrificing himself with that ridiculous tackle, secondly for his celebration in the tunnel. Ediit: We had Charlie Austin on the wing!
