Good luck to the Coltherd clan in the peter marsh , Captain Redbeard must have a great chance in this , granted normal luck ......10/1
A source very close to the yard tells me Altior has been catching pigeons on the gallops and will hose up. Don't shoot the messenger.
I say it’s because of information like this that the forum has got the reputation that it has. On behalf of everyone, and I do mean everyone, on the forum please pass on out thanks to your mole / insider / contact (delete as appropriate). Cor blimey though this 'source' isn’t the Lieutenant himself, is it?!? So like this advice that I’m highly tempted to have a ‘Tote Place’ wager and am hopefully of securing double figured odds. Brown envelope anyone?!?
The runner of the Lieutenant’s that will attract the most attention at Ascot, of the morrow, will of course be Altior (especially, here on the forum, after that stunning piece of ‘inside info’ we have all been given) but one that it would be wise to also look at is the great man’s DOWNTOWN GETAWAY in the ‘lucky last’ (4.10). I love the lineage re this 6YO son of Getaway as his dam is a half-sister to my old fave, and stalwart of the Lieutenant’s, Chomba Womba (10 time winner, including 3 at Grade 2 level). Downtown Getaway won a Fairyhouse Bumper, back in December ’17 by a whopping 12 lengths before being purchased, by current connections, later that month for €350,000. Following being off the course for 12 months the old boy made his debut, for the forum’s favourite trainer, last month and ran a race full of promise just going down to a much more experienced rival from the Pip Hobbs barn – pair 8 lengths clear of the 3rd and 18 lengths ahead of the 4th placed animal. With that run under the old belt I would expect Downtown Getaway to really announce himself tomorrow afternoon before hopefully going onto contest a race(s) at the end of term Festivals. Currently, 25/1 is available for the ‘Ballymore’ and 33’s for the ‘Albert Bartlett’. I like him, crew. And so should you. Meanwhile, please note that no moles / insiders / contacts (delete as appropriate) were cultivated in the putting together of this post. Good luck all.
This is the most emphatic of Paul Jacob's three free info tips for Saturday: ''ZAFAR made a good debut at Taunton on his hurdles’ debut and highly rated by Philip Hobbs he is expected to run a huge race in the opener at Ascot (12.40) A win bet at around 7/2 is advised.''
Here's a rare bash at tipping on not606... 1.35 Navan. Melly and Me (Nap) Won cosily at Limerick over 2m 6f and is only raised a pound here. The difficult track should suit a drop back to 2m 4f and Jonathan Moore should guide him home off his light weight. Best Price..8/1 Paddy Power. This price can't last IMO. 4.15 Haydock Le Musee (NB) Ran a good race when second to Henderson's highly rated Champ, and followed up by a slightly disappointing run behind Darling Maltaix at Newbury. However, the dawdling pace and four hurdles being omitted didn't suit- although he passed five horses on the run in. The step up to three miles should suit and he drops down a grade again. He will go very close. Best price...6/1 Paddy Power 3.00 Ascot Happy Diva (Each Way) A highly consistent animal, she ran good seconds behind both Aso and previously Mister Whitaker. In between , she was cantering behind Baron Alco and Frodon- but was unfortunately brought down. She's been raised only 2 lbs for those efforts , but her rider's claim reduces that by 3 lbs. In a difficult race, she's a great chance of fighting out the finish. Best Price...10/1 Paddy Power
err , unless she's had bits sewn on , Happy Diva is a mare ....but a very tough one , stable form is a worry but she seems almost immune and surely will be placed at least !
Off to Ascot today. The Grade 1 chase is a bit disappointing that only 3 horses are entered. None the less, it will be a good day.
Going to sound ridiculous but then again we have been given some ridiculous info before that's won, anyway been given a very good word for Cray in the 1 00 Navan @ 66/1
Morning Two plays at Ascot with Ladbrokes 1.50-Culture De Sivola @ 10-3..Win 3.00-San Benedeto @ 18-1..Each Way [4 Places]
2,10pm Navan Eviserating 6/1 ew (5 places) 3.10 Haydock Captain Redbeard 7/1 (4 places) 2.25 Ascot Colonial Dream 8/1 (5 places with WH) 3.00 Ascot Mr. Medic 8/1 (5 places with skybet) 12.20 Navan Smoking Gun and 1.30 Haydock Jerrysback 8/1 double NAP. Good luck all.
Couple of week back this was put up on here but was just touched off at cork, Navan 1.35 Chatham Street Lad at 5/1 Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Looking forward to seeing Altior in action today and also looking forward to seeing how One for Arthur does in the Peter Marsh chase. In that race have backed Robinsfirth 8/1 each way. Horse was entered up at Cheltenham in New Years day but was taken out of the race due to ground concerns. Tizzard won this race last year and I m hoping he has him fit to do himself justice. Ascot 3pm Mr Whitaker 7/1 each way. Am anticipating a big run and if he wins convincingly to put himself right in the Ryanair picture. Don't really think he is seriously being considered for the Gold Cup at all. Reasonable sized bet. Gonna mention Petticoat Tails 1.50pm Ascot. Was available at 12s last night now in to 15/2. Can see that one running well but have left it alone myself. Good luck all.
