Interesting that Ralph doesn’t think we have a fire fighter in front of the defence. Puts pressure on Lemina/Hojbjerg/Romeu. If he’s not happy with the defensive qualities of a back four, I guess his priority could be a commanding CB plus another defensive midfielder, to give the back four more protection. I can see why he would like to use Boufal simply because he can run the ball from deep and effectively compliment Redmond on either side of the pitch. We are in need of game changers. Can’t leave it all to Redders.
There's always been an element of the shell game to those proclamations, because "back into the club" is so nebulous. Our previous owner was keeping the money from sales in the club in a fashion, because it never directly left the club; it didn't get spent on transfers, though, but rather shored up the financial position such that she could maximize her profit when sold. I presume that the PL money is counted, for the simple reason that it's most of our revenues. However, that still doesn't mean that we'll see any great spending, because until our accounts are released (and if the last couple years are any indication, we'll release them very late) we have no idea how the purchase of the club was financed. Further, if we decide to start carrying a significant cash balance, that money won't be taken out of the club, either...but would again inflate the value of the club if Gao's looking to turn a profit, without being spent on the playing staff.
Checked a rather thriving Celta forum to see what they think, and opinion on Boufal seems about equally split between "our only creative force/only player trying/if not for Boufal, we would never get into the opposition box" and "show pony/no end product". They seem however to generally agree that they like him more than Pione Sisto, who is badly out of favour.
As does their manager; Sisto has barely played for quite some time. Got hauled off at the half on October 7th, hasn't gotten more than cameo sub appearances in more than three months.
If Boufal wants to come back then I would take him in a heartbeat. Brilliant player if used correctly. People have been impressed by Redmond this year (and the way he is being used under Hassenhuttl) imagine someone with Boufal's level of ability. The big if from the reports behind the scenes are his attitude, but I'm happy to give it a go
Boufal just needs a good manager. I remeber reading that Raph likes to use a lot of wingers in his preferred dormation of 4-2-2-2.
I don't think so, I think that is the money being used to settle the Macquarie Bank loan for the day to day running of the Club, I doubt that there is much left over for transfer funds? Sell to buy is the mandate, which is why we cannot splash the cash. We keep being told that the Owners are not allowed to use their own personal wealth to enhance the team. The big Clubs find ways around it so why can't we?
This is my take. I remember Boufal being very willing to tackle too, some of his best moments coming when he won the ball back. He should have more of a license to take on players like Redmond has under Hasenhuttle with losing possession not as important under his pressing style. I really think Boufal will suit Ralph.
I know he gets alot of stick on here , but i thought ralph kruger came across well in that fans forum.more to the point than before. As for ralph H. Very impressed with him.clear vision of how he wants to play. Wondering what sort of position we would be in if we had a manager of his quality after koeman left
