It definitely splits opinion but it seems it’s here to stay. I’m personally not against it, however I’ve not been in the stadium to witness it yet, only on TV, so next season could be interesting.

There’s a whole other debate to be had about whether it’s shown in the stadium on the big screens. Last night showed a 50/50 split on the review of their disallowed goal so who knows.

Tennis and cricket refined their referral technology, we can only hope football does the same (wishful thinking?).

I still believe that the game changing moments like goals and red cards need to be correct because it ultimately affects the result and there is a lot of money at stake these days at the top level and can affect people's livelihoods. The system clearly needs modifying and fine tuning, which i'm sure will happen in time.

But they don't always get it correct, so why bother with all the negatives if it's going to have minimal positive impact?

How much are ST's at Sholing btw?

All the calls were correct last night I believe.

Don't know about a ST, I pick and choose the occasional match there, guaranteed a win if you follow Sholing though.

£5 for a ticket and free for under 12s I believe.

I'm not so sure I couldn't celebrate a Saints goal instantly. Then my slightly sinister side likes a VAR review to set a bit of tension and then celebrate all over again or boo like your at a panto.

It will definately cut out the travesty of the likes of Gabbi's disallowed goal at Wembley and I think that the % of correct calls will increase dramatically..

Unless the official thought Bertrand was close enough to De Gea to be interfering with play...

VAR would've cleared that up, it was an obvious legal goal.

Var official could have thought differently.

Unlikely I admit, but still possible.

Ultimately doesn't matter to me though as I'll probably stop going.

Something was 100% needed and until a better solution is found VAR is here to stay. Give it a few seasons and we won't even know its there. Bit like the golden goal rule or moving free kicks forwards 10 yards for poor discipline. No one moans about them rules anymore.

To save yourself the trouble of saying the same thing every time you post, why not just add it to your signature?

I like VAR. I would rather wait around for a minute for a correct call than play on quickly, fuming at a clear injustice.

As soon as I saw the first replay last night, I said to my son: that won't stand! Offside!

I ws correct. Don't moan at the system for getting it right!

The pundits need to stop using VAR as a bad thing, when it happens to a team/manager they like, as last night, and react in the same way to ALL incidents.
The reaction to the Derby first goal being allowed, when played onside by a Jack Stephens foot, never got the same response as the goal that was disallowed by a Derby player’s foot.
If they want consistency from refs, then they should provide consistency in the studio.
