Isn’t dropping points from winning positions one of our most concerning stats. Was hoping Ralph would have some idea how to close games out.

 

We seem to lose concentration. Like we’ve lit up a joint and closing in on bed time.

 

We closed out the game ok at Leicester and that was with only ten men for about 50 minutes.

 

I think that you have to give Lampard huge credit, he really went for it playing 424 and it paid off for him, we just couldn't bury one at the other end to kill them off.

I know what you mean, but actually it’s two steps forward, and one step back, which makes all the difference.

And the steps forward are in the league, where it really matters.

 

This trend of thought was being written this time last year. Let’s hope for a better outcome this time.

After goodness knows how many pages, this is the post that hit nail on head for me. Though I can only claim 52 years. Saturday is important.

Honestly not too bothered about going out. Ralph has had a chance to rotate and whilst that team should have seen the game out, he will know a little more about the depth of his squad (or lack of it). Bit too early for Johnson and Ramsay. Gallagher not good in the role he played tonight. Ely was poor but did at least get invovled a lot more than of late. I'm probably a lone voice but there is something there to be developed - confidence is lacking still.

 

Stephens made our second goal.

Let's not forget that. He is starting to look like a very good ball-playing defender.

 

I don't really rate him at all bur thought he generally did well tonight.

 

Honestly don’t see anything in Moi. He can’t even do the basics. Was a decent cross for the first goal, but one decent pass in what, 10-12 games? The rest of the time he gives the ball away, causing us to get countered. Massive liability.

Yep. He just seemingly has no football brain. For such an experienced player, he doesn’t help us control the game at all. Sloppy passing, sloppy crossing, sloppy decision making.

Pros though:
I actually thought Gallagher did okay tonight, with very limited service.
