You have to admire the gall of Theresa May.
To look straight at the camera and say that it is time for others to start putting the nation first.
Perhaps she can be the first to step up to the plate and resign.
Dreadful person and a shockingly bad politician, who is trying, even now, to find a way to blame Labour for her failure to agree an acceptable deal.

Just saw Cameron on the news, and to use a Bob Mortimer expression, his forehead is a “sniper’s dream”.

Before anyone comments, I am not inciting anyone to off him.

    Really I am not. :bandit:

She had all her minions wound up slagging Corbyn off today, it’s a pity the libel laws don’t apply in the HoC.

Let’s not forget, this is the woman who just lost a flagship policy motion by the largest margin in history.

She makes me so angry. She could have gone with a cross-party strategy from the start - many have been calling for it for TWO YEARS.

Parliament have been made to look like squabbling children due to her shocking leadership.

Or have the guts to admit that there isn't actually a broadly acceptable deal, something she well knows. There are a series of possible exits that would be acceptable to perhaps 20-25% of the population; there is none that will satisfy a majority.

    Well, maybe one...

Yet so much of what is said is carried in news bulletins or repeated in the press, with the gullible lapping it up and believing it.

With regards to the media, I think all retractions of proven misinformation should be equal in size and length of the original story and any additional stories, so if there is a front page lie, with more on pages 3 & 4 etc, then the same amount of print should form the basis of the apology.
Likewise on the news programmes. Slag someone off with unproven slurs, for 5 minutes, then the apology should last for the same amount of time and be shown at the same time, on the same programme and for the same amount of time as the original comment.

I took one off for the one you couldnt vote in. didnt pay enough attetion to realise it was before 1997

We just had a second vote on that issue. its the first time we've been close to having support for independence. but youve had a say all those 41 years. if you were close to winning because those people turned 18 then you should have got a vote but you werent so there was no point.

Im not of the opinion we shouldnt have had a vote, but they should have given us a plan to vote for if they werent going to let us have a say on the plan after the vote. otherwise we have people like you saying the people think one way and the government saying they think another while various newspapers think another without evidence either way as to what is most popular.

If MPs vote say no to "No Deal" then the best option is to have an amendment that supports the withdrawal of Article 50, and and put in its grave the concept of Brexit. Then the UK Government can then get on with "governing" properly

I agree this always should have been a cross party negotiation with the EU. I can't see any other way out of this. I have heard a lot of bleating from Corbyn and co.......but nothing particularly helpful towards resolving the issue. Nobody seems to be putting the country first just political agendas...........Not good........

I put the country first. That is for MPs to withdraw Article 50 and bury Brexit. It is not what 51.9% people voted for but it is putting the needs of this country first above the tribalism.

For what it is worth, the 118 Tories and the DUP MPs have let down the 51.9 who voted Brexit. Mrs May had the deal but in their selfishness they have put up two fingers to you Beddy and the rest of the nation. As for Corbyn it is his right to oppose the Government whereas the 118 Tories should have backed May. As such these 118 should now start being de-selected for their lack of loyalty. We will start with Royston Smith.

This is so typical of the narrative. Mrs May had a deal that gave more power to the EU and we are expected to accept that as "leaving?"
I suspect many on here will be horrified when the next accurate voting intentions come out (surveyed from today onward) now it is clear that all the other parties have said no deal must be taken off the table.

With it clear that there will no deal that is actually leaving you might just find that people who wanted a deal have moved to the "no deal" camp and not the other way.......which will be shown up in a survey with Tories up and Labour down despite the state the Tories are in at the moment!!!

And I mean voting intentions not the "who would be the best PM" analysis out today which shows May increasing her lead and Corbyn down in every demographic including with remainers and Labour voters!!!!

Right, just got on the EuroStar at St Pancras, destined for Brussels. Leave it with me, I’ll sort this out.

Champions only in the Champions league. Cup Winners cup back and three teams in the UEFA Cup, that I’ll rename the Fats Trophy.

Straight two-legged knock out too, to stop this need for 40 player squads.

Maximum squad size of 20 and 75% of players need to be home grown (to help National teams). If you run out of players, you play the kids.

Diving to become a 5 game ban and a month’s wages fine.

All goal keepers to wear green.

Nothing else to worry about is there?

The entire problem is Tory made.
Why should the Labour Party bail them out?
Labour have been quite clear in what they want, especially with regards to a customs union and looking after employee rights.
May won’t even countenance a customs union and only very recently considered looking after employee rights in an attempt to bribe Labour MPs into backing her deal.
And it’s May who won’t take a no deal Brexit off the table because she is still using it as a scare tactic.

I'll bite. What would you accept as "leaving"?

Try to keep it succinct. I'm not interested in the EU conspiracy against you or the failures of Labour or the Lib Dems or the personal vendetta being waged against you personally by Mrs May. I just want to know what's the line you want the UK to go beyond? Where's the line when it becomes "leaving" for you? I'm not aware of having seen this from you. (I may well have missed it.)

I agree, a Tory made problem, but I believe the vote was supported by thousands of Labour voters too? A fact
certain leaders need to take account of. We’re in for a few interesting days and some views are being re-evaluated I suspect, on both sides.

Yes there were many Labour voters that voted for Brexit, and in my opinion Labour have put forward how they would have approached it.
Mrs May won’t even listen to her own party, so I find it incredulous that anyone would think that she would pay heed to anything Corbyn put forward. As Corbyn says, her now deciding to talk cross party is nothing more than a stunt, so that when she brings her own, pretty much unchanged Plan A back, dressed up as Plan B and it is rejected again, her pet media will go full out to lay the blame anywhere but at the door of number 10.
Also, if she does inject into the Brexit deal, what Labour ask for, and it proves successful, that could be worth a lot of votes for Labour at the next election. She can’t afford to risk that, after the debacle of the election she called two years ago.
She is just looking for scapegoats.
