i reckon in light of all that's happened, he's going to make a statement clarifying that he won't do it again in this country. He was evasive about it in his interview last friday. Probably been advised that saying yes he's done it before, didn't believe it was wrong but now recognises that it's regarded as inappropriate in this country so will cease with the practise. An appropriate level of contrition may be seen as a way of appeasing the efl... in fact they may well have recommended it themselves.

"in light of mr bielsa's admission and subsequent statement, the efl are satisifed that the naughty boy has learned his lesson and on this occasion the football league's only sanctions will be a fine of £100m, an indefinite touchline ban and a 20 point deduction for this season, with Leeds playing all games away from home and starting each game with 9 men, blah blah."

well either that or he's resigning in a huff<laugh>

I wouldnt be surprised if its not just an announcement of a partnership with NASA, allowing us free use of the Hubble telescope, providing that we only use it for "educational" purposes ;)

Sending blokes with binoculars is so old school, we need to get with modern technology :D

It’s old school but you have to love it. Here we are in the digital world, where drones are closing airports... and Marcelo is sending guys out to hide in the bushes with binoculars. If he'd Remembered his cash filled brown paper bag to give to the rozzers this story would never have broken.

The players should play in calf length boots and thick cotton jerseys... and we should ditch the sky contract in favour of pathe news.

Heading in for a late tea break to catch the SKY sports coverage at 5. Dreading the next half hour. More important than any three points weve won this season and still the damn investigation to follow

Summary of conference so far , courtesy of Adam Pope's twitter feed

MB: “I called this press briefing because we have the classic press conference ahead of Stoke. I though the spy matter would take away time dedicated to the game

MB: “ I don’t want to mix this with the game.

MB summarises: “It’s about watching from a public space an activity in a private place which affects fair play. I’ve already said I’m the one responsible. The club is not responsible whatsoever. The person who did it followed my orders

MB says many have made an opinion of my behaviour: “Many condemning me saying it was immoral, unethical & violated fair play. Some say it was cheating. The club felt obliged to make public excuses to Derby

MB: “Many ex players and managers say my behaviour was disrespect

MB: “After a complaint by Derby to the FL... if my behaviour affects the prestige of the competition

MB: “I’m going to make it easier for the FL... I’ll assume my behaviour is from the extreme position. We’ve watched all the opponents before we played them. My goal is to make the investigation easier for them

MB: “I don’t want to compare my behaviour with previous behaviour concerning this subject. I’ve heard other behaviours affect fair play but I don’t want to defend myself by attacking others. What I’ve done is not illegal. It’s not specified or restrained

MB: “it’s not a violation of law. We can discuss if it’s right or wrong

MB: “We are talking about getting advantages with what is called cheating behaviour.... of course if you observe something without the permission of those being observed we call it spying. I can’t say that is the right thing to show

MB: “I didn’t have bad intentions not did I try and get an unfair sporting advantage. I did it because it did not contravene a specific norm

MB: “I have my point of view as does Lampard who believes I violated fair play. I have to adapt to the way of English football

MB: “We have some analysis that the Championship is the 6th biggest in the world. If the authorities want to condemn those with bad intention orwho affect the prestige of the league by their behaviour...so we have to respect the procedure to sanction the one who makes mistakes

MB regrets that “he’s overexposed in the media. But for me it’s important to explain. When you look at an opponent you want to know starting XI, the tactical set up & ... set pieces. These are 3 main things coaches look at

MB: “When you watch an opponent the day before a Gabe it either confirms what you know.” He also says it’s too late to construct a project to change tactically. MB repeats he’s not trying to justify himself

MB on Lampard: “All the info I need to plan a game I gather without the necessity of having to go & watch the opponent train. So why did I send? Because I thought I was not violating a norm

MB explain how a coach’s mind works: “You have around 20 people who create a volume of information. Not all of which is necessary. So why? Because we feel guilty if we don’t work enough, reduces anxiety ... & in my case because I’m stupid enough to allow myself this behaviour

MB shows us how he analyses opponent without watching training. He talks about analysis (apparently via Powerpoint presentation taken 360 man hours to produce ?)

MB says he watches”d all 51 games of Derby last year (4 hours work) . “We do it as professional behaviour so we are not ignorant about the competition

MB going into detail on his homework on Derby

MB: “I can’t speak English but I can speak about the 24 teams of The Championship.... as you can see my aim is to compare Derby then & now. To analyse one game takes 4 hours.

MB: “I feel ashamed to have to tell you all this

MB goes into mega detail on Derby’s tactics - the % use of formations & personnel over their 31 games

The point is Bielsa knew before the game what type of systems Derby would use

I’ll tell you now I am sitting in a coaching masterclass right now (quote from Adam Pope :) )

MB says all this information is not committed to memory. He wants to convince us that all he is saying is true. I think he had us at hello

Bielsa showing us video which explains to us that he has studied 40 minutes video of how Derby attack to reduce to 8 minutes for players to view.

MB now has a table explaining the 4 systems and the players used by Derby 90 per cent of time. The document shows how all of Derby’s systems have been analysed. Another analyses every player & where they’ve played

All the data on Harry Wilson is laid before us. He knew everything about the player who didn’t play Bielsa as planned this superbly. Masterclass in teaching a lot of lessons to a lot of people at the same time

    MB thanks us for listening

Presume that there will be questions from the press now, wonder which will be the first to ask Bielsa if he wouldnt mind going all over that again :D

Bielsa now using a big screen to demonstrated his analysis. Says what he's showing us took more than 300 hours of work. He's running us through the information he gathers for individual games, using Derby as an example. #lufc

Haha Derby will love that, Bielsa is now showing the rest of the league how to beat Derby. So it was all a ploy to get Lampard sacked this season
