Or putting out reserve teams in the league/FA cups then getting knocked out by some lower league diddy team and blowing your only realistic chance of winning a trophy. Still, finishing seventh in the greatest league of all time is a fine achievement. Something to tell the grandchildren about.

Well that's ****ing easy.

The Yanks and the Ruskies were desperate to get there and would do anything for oneupmanship.

The Ruskies realised it was a pile of ****e and thought well why bother trying to create our own lunar studios in the ****ing back of beyond to look as ****ing stupid as the Yanks.

Utter ****ing ****e that people still believe man went to the moon.

 

But what about all them filums they made?

So why did the Russians not dob the Yanks in?

 

I did wonder why no one got shot.

The Russians publicly congratulated the yanks they were also monitoring the broadcasts from the moon.

It was the middle of the Cold War and both were desperate to be 1st on the moon, if Russia had any evidence at all that it was faked then they would have told the world.

Besides, my original question remains, "why" are the Yanks claiming to have been to the moon?

Alexei Leonov was among a small group of cosmonauts who joined Soviet intelligence experts at the army engineering research center known as the Space Transmission Corps on Komsomolsky Avenue in Moscow on the morning of July 21, 1969, as recounted in "Two Sides of the Moon" (Simon & Schuster, 2004).

We were all transfixed by the crackling transmissions from Apollo 11 commander Neil Armstrong as he guided his lunar landing module, Eagle, down towards the surface of the moon."
