I think we'll see a bit of mix, partly due to lack of other options and partly because we really don't want to be losing someone like Redmond to injury/suspension. He's one I would definitely bench and only bring on if necessary. I hope to see the likes of Gallagher, Barnes, Johnson, Slattery, Ramsay involved.

Edit: Oh and Romeu probably could do with a rest too. Lemina back in for him, and play either Slattery or JWP alongside.

Really want to go through when the next round is against Accrington Stanley (apologies to their fans, but they ain't Man City), but I trust Ralph's judgement about the team. He will undoubtedly have his mind on the Everton game following a good result against Leicester. I'm sure we won't be playing our full strength side....but we will still have a good chance at SMS. 3-1 Saints.

Damn, maybe Romeu will have to play then unless we want a defensively weakened mid again. At least we have Hojbjerg back again for Everton I guess.

Obvious from 1st game that if we play 2CBs we need Oriel to protect Slattery alongside him and with Armstrong in we can bench Nathan
Sims and Gallagher must feature

If they go 442 we need to have 3CBs!

I was assuming we'd play 3 CBs again because 2 didn't really work last time. That does mean playing all 3 of our regulars with no Yoshi, and Hoedt out of the picture though, unless we play one of the youth CBs as part of the 3. But then you'd probably still want a Romeu in front. I suppose if we see a return of Hojbjerg and Lemina against Everton it'll be ok to play Romeu again tonight. He's just been so good recently I want him playing in the league. But needs must.

Targett speaks highly of Ralph's training methods. Matt must be pleased to find himself back in the team...even though it is only because Bertrand is still not fully fit. He probably thought he was on his way out when he went on loan...he now has a chance to show what he can do at his boyhood club.

 

I think now we're past the Christmas period then you just need to play one game at a time.
