Ferrari have been saying that they will not be copying others but the others will be copying them, for that is bullshit if you look at the new MP4-26 it looks beautiful BEAUTIFUL.

    Quote from BBC F1 website:

"And the car features a number of intriguing aerodynamic design innovations.
The bodywork is extensively sculpted and there is a novel engine cover design, featuring two air inlets, and the front wing features a series of very dramatic shapes.

The air intake on the sidepods - the bodywork that sticks out either side of the driver - is also a shape never seen in F1 before, double the height on the outside of the car than it is where the intake meets the cockpit beside the driver.
McLaren said the L-shaped sidepod front was an attempt to get more airflow to the rear wing, thereby increasing aerodynamic downforce.

The second air intake is to aid cooling of the gearbox and hydraulics, according to director of engineering Tim Goss, at a time when McLaren have packaged the car as tightly as possible for optimum aerodynamic performance."

So with all this will they live up to expectations?

In my opinion of course they will,

Lewis will be aggressive and on the edge as usual and Jenson will be the calm and methodical guy who is a intelligent racer. They will both work together in a good way as there were no problems in their first year in 2010 so They will be contenders for the constructors championship.

Going onto the drivers championship I think there will be three contenders:

    Lewis Hamilton
    Jenson Button
    Sebastian Vettel

    Why you may ask???

Well Jenson is a intelligent racer(Australia 2010,China 2010 etc etc) Lewis is a aggressive driver who gets unbelievable performances form average cars(2009 Hungary,2010 Britian,Korea 2010 etc etc.)

With Sebastian you NEVER rule out the reigning world champion so thats the main reason he`s a contender but also his sheer qualifying speed is incredible! 10 Poles last year was amazing but turning poles into wins seemed to be a problem but he still won enough races to get the championship.

Anyway whatever happens we are in for an exciting 2011!

Oh my God, that looks, well, odd. I've not seen this angle before, the side angle makes this car look amazing, but here it looks messed up! I hope it'll work though

It is basically the same shape as the Red Bull one from last year, but upside down, and more rigid

LewisWDC,no Alonso as title contender ?

Top 3 contenders for me would be Vettel,Hamilton and Alonso (assuming of course they have competetive cars) <ok>

No I think Alonso will struggle this year with the Pirreli tyres remember he was the one moaning and complaining about them first. He is a top class driver but I think he will struggle this season.

    <ok>

half the car is not the real thing!! the car we saw today made of plastic as to not give anything away to other teams, as said so by Martin Whitmarsh...http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/89292.

by the first race, all the car's will change.
tyre's will or might be a problem for some or all the drivers.... again its to early to say. I hope its Jenson or Lewis.... Vettel and Alonslow bother me... fingers crossed its not them two

We can live in hope eh.

I have an awful feeling it's gonna be a bit like last year, but what I do know, only being following F1 since 2007...

Nice avatar Moltisanti, big Sopranos fan myself! I always think we will know better after the first race where all the teams are at, I remember in testing last year the Ferrari was hyped a lot but it wasn't quite as good as predicted (still not bad though)!

Here he is! <gesturing like a chubby Italian gangster at Ashbees> .Woahhh.

I know mate but who can help speculating, testing is an ok look at the cars though, it aint as pointless as some would have you view.

I honestly think this McLaren is either a beast which is capable of winning every race, or a complete dog.

The design looks ... odd - but revolutionary - we'll get used to it and I'm sure some teams are already copying some of their ideas.
