I call bullshit on any midfielder not being there to pass the ball.

we had 75% possession. if you cant pass ball you are at nothing.

henderson when facing right way does ok.

wijnaldum.need 5 touches and to turn round in a circle twice to play even a sideways pass.

windy is ok in Europe cos it's very hard get ball off him.but he's god awful on the ball.

even fabinho who can barely run is a much better midfielder cos he can pass it.

Yesterday was a lot like our performances pre December, very solid, but never looked like scoring more than 1 or 2. Mainly due to that talent lacking midfield. Fabinho clearly offers a bit more creativity in there and has created a lot of opportunities and generally switched the play and kept it moving well.

 

anyway spurs took off their only actual cm passing the ball and stuck on a lump up front.

it's all kick and good now.

 

proves midfielders need to pass it not just be a destructive lump.
