Richard Keys Well said @Rioferdy5 . If Rafa loves Newcastle as he says - spend some of his own money. He’s got enough. Management is about teamwork - why should it always be Ashley? Buy it. It’s still for sale. They’re in the bottom 3 & Rafa is responsible. He picks the team. In the whole history of ****wittery - this has got to go down as one of the most clueless tweets in history. However, I now have to go and inform my staff that they'll be paying their own wages from now on...
I put clowns like Keys and Ferdinand in the Katy 'Jordan' Price bracket .................... desperate to be seen and heard but completely irrelevant and should be starved of public oxygen. They are being 'controversial' just to get their names 'in the papers' ..................... or 'trending' on Twitter nowadays. They are best ignored completely and they will eventually fade away.
Worst part about Rio's delusional bollocks is that he's just regurgitating what Ashley genuinely believes. Let that one sink in!
I can't see a problem with what Sherwood said to be honest. He says there is a small disconnect with the fans because he plays negative home and away. Basically he is just saying Rafa is a defensive manager, and he is very good at it. He is basically saying he fits perfectly with our situation. He says Ashley deserves credit for appointing him. What is wrong with any of that? Its all completely accurate. Fair enough Rio Ferdinand is talking ****e, he always does. I don't like Sherwood either but must admit what he says is on the money.
“I think Mike Ashley has to take some credit for appointing him.” Ashley deserves credit for appointing a decent manager. Why? What other Clubs fans have been told they should say thank you to the Owner for appointing a decent manager? Why should we say thank you to Ashley for appointing a decent manager and then not backing him even moderately? Why are we a special set of fans who should say thank you and well done to our Owner when he appoints a manager? Or am I missing the point? Seems strange that Rio was also coming out with the we should say thank you line. Makes a suspicious person wonder who may have dreamed up the idea.
Appointing Rafa was something Ashley did right. Whether you want to say that he is entitled to thanks for it or just credit for having done his job properly is a question of semantics. It is, however, the equivalent of saying that not every single thing Ashley has done has been a mistake. That is setting the bar pretty low.
