Rodney I rest my case regards Taylor quality and just what the doctor ordered.

One goal and one assist made a massive difference.

Palmer is what we have been missing, should start over Patterson.

De silva different gravy at left back sign that lad up.

    Agree with all Johnson’s subs.

But I would start that team that finished today.

Careful wishing for that - we all said that after the second half vs Stoke at home. LJ dutifully DID start with the same 11 vs Reading - and we got stuffed.

Shock horror, guess what he was fantastic yet again when he came on, people look at his stats and say he's ****e, but just look at what happens to the team when he comes on, always buzzing around the pitch creating loads of space, brings so much to the team other than millions of goals, seems class coming off the bench but never really performs when starting, kinda like Solskjaer, I like him

I’m not bothered about being proved wrong on Taylor. If I’m wrong then great as it’s great for the team I support.
Personally I think as a sub against a tiring defence is his strength. Starting him you don’t get anywhere near a good performance from him.

So enjoy snuggling into your Taylor duvet, me I think it’s a team and management that done fantastically over the past 10 games.
If you remember you wanted LJ out and telling us we are relegation fodder.

    In terms of Taylor, I have always said 2 things about him;

    1. He plays at his best when he comes on as a late sub, as his movement is good, as is his passing against tired defenders.
    2. He is not good enough at this level, yes he scored yesterday, however he is a striker and I think that's only his second goal this season and first from open play, and it's mid-Jan!!

Let's not make him out to be the saviour just yet......

Like him off the bench , brings intensity to the team and gets in the faces of the defenders and makes things happen , he doesn’t have the same affect when started , however, he needs to score more. Hopefully today will be the start , will give him confidence to push on and get more goals because if he could do that then that would , I believe, improve his alround game. I do believe there is a goal scorer in there ( he’s done it at every other level he’s played at), he just needs to believe it himself.
In the interview after the game Lee said he’s now fully fit for the first time in over a year, so maybe that was what was missing , let’s hope so.

He reads the game very well, and possibly coming off the bench he’s already worked out what defender is tiring and he can get in his face.

One point I will make is, Weinman apart from blazing it over which his confidence has gone in front of goal didn’t actually have a bad game nor really did Paterson.

It’s typical RR wanting to change the team, then when we lose he can say LJ don’t know his best 11.

I would drop one of them to get Palmer in though, but lucky enough Paterson can play where Weinman did yesterday likewise Weinman can play where Paterson did. So which one drops is anyone’s guess.

Wonder where RP is now we are not losing?

I thought Weinman had a good game yesterday, he’s lacking the confidence a goal or two brings, I thought he’d managed it only for his effort to hit the bar.

In his defence he’s had to move wide as we are playing Fam up front on his own, which was always going to limit his scoring opportunities.

I have said & always have said, we have a terrific coach/manager in LJ, he understands the modern game & his man management is brilliant...in LJ I believe we will attain our aim of reaching the prem.

But is that down to LJ you need to ask yourself......I'm sure it's not his intention to sell our best players..why would it be?

Again different threads covering same aspects … but club has said "only sell if they have or can get an equal or better player ……….." or to good to refuse, but player has option!

Which of those best players we’ve sold would you have back and would go straight into the team?

    Rod my take

Webster is better than Flint and will be sold for huge money (class)bring goals to his game he would be prem bound.

De Silva is better than Bryan and Should be signed up as city can purchase him.(class player)

Bobby Reid I would play in our side still only on the basis goals have been a problem. However I saw something second half I have not seen all season and that was Casey sitting behind Fammy and Taylor and there was some spark there and great link up play especially between Taylor and Casey.
I think LJ has found that player to bring it together.

Also the energy and direct running he brings have been missing this season , we’ve had to adapt the way we play this season , that’s largely due to loosing BR , I’m no tactical expert and I’m sure more tacticaly aware posters will explain how I’m wrong , but that’s my take for what it’s worth.
