Reckon Blackburn will win the replay and we will be facing Danny Graham . Perhaps field a stronger side maybe but a game we can win. Might get on the telly if its Blackburn? Afterall there aren't many standout ties.
Not sure who I want. Newcastle have Chelsea before the replay then Cardiff after it. If they beat Blackburn they then have us followed by Man City three days later. Blackburn seem fairly safe in mid-table. They play Millwall and Ipswich before the 4th round, two teams below them. If they beat Newcastle it is conceivable that they will be on a winning streak. They would relish a cup run.
Newcastle would play a weaken side and as we know hardly attack whereas Blackburn are strong at home and like you say would play a full team with some dangerous players. It might be like the Millwall game 2 years ago - albeit we'd have a better team out I'd hope!
If it's Newcastle, I hope we do what we threatened to do in the first half of the league game there - it was another of those days where we were punished for poor decision making near their goal, like the Fulham and Arsenal games. If it's Blackburn, historically we don't do too well in the Red Rose county (Burnley earlier this season was a rare win), and that's excluding the Manchester teams.
Looks like another trip to SJP as Newcastle are 2-0 up. EDIT: Blackburn turned it around helped by Danny Graham . Actually fancy them to win now as Newcastle pretty much have the kids out.
Great cup tie. I think I hope Newcastle fluke it. Blackburn look like they are relaxed and having fun.
