Just mentioned this on the transfer thread. Permanent deal and not a loan. He will be remembered for saving us from relegation and i wish him all the best.
Nice hat. All the best Manolo - always liked you and you certainly provided a few thrills along the way
£12m is a bargain. Despite his lack of game time, Gabbi is one of my favourite players over the last 2 or 3 years.
For a player who has played just a handful of games this season, and not too many in the second half of last season, that is an incredible. But a bargain compared with the £19 million Bournemouth paid for an injured Solanke. Did he even play a first team game for Liverpool?
Glad it's a permanent; was curious whether we'd be paying a substantial portion of his wages through the end of the year. Hope he does well in his return to Serie A...didn't seem like a bad egg, just a fish out of water. There's even something resembling a smile in that picture!
Our record for signing Italian International Strikers is mixed to say the least, Osvaldo was a ****, Graziano was loved and Manolo just never quite fitted in but I have no doubt that the ability was always there if played to his strengths but we probably couldn't afford to. In bocca al lupo Gabbi.
Will always love Gabbi. Gave us some great times, but never quite suited to us....and that wasn't always his fault.
Still feel like he was never truly given enough of a chance. I don’t remember him ever having a consistent run of starts since his injury. He has definitely started way less games than our other strikers anyway. But I trust RH and we obviously need the money, so good luck fella.
