    Bike: 15 h 4 minutes (176 miles) via national cycle route 6

Haven't said this for a long time, but we head to Brammall Lane on the back of a FA Cup win. All our moods were buoyed after our fantastic 2-1 win over Leeds last Saturday, I've been pinching myself, we won in the cup! Sheffield United, on the other hand, suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat against National League side, Barnet. To put it in perspective though, not one of the United players who played in their last league game, a 0-3 win away to Wigan, started the FA Cup game. They gave a cup appearance to Leon Clarke, enough said.

Sheffield United have been impressive in the league, winning four of their last 6, drawing away to Ipswich after a 1-2 loss to West Brom. Their good run has seen them move up to 3rd in the table, on 47 points, and easily within touching distance of the automatic promotion spots. Their main asset, is without doubt Billy Sharp who has scored an impressive 17 goals this year, 16 in the league, making him the division's joint top scorer. Sheffield United have also already bought in midfielder Kieran Dowell, on loan from Everton for the rest of the season.

We go into this game having won in the cup (did I mention that already?) and having drawn our last 2 after winning 3 in a row. With Sylla having moved to Belgium and Hemed out for at least 6 weeks after a hernia operation, it is encouraging that the responsibility for scoring is being well distributed amongst the squad. Freeman, Wells and Wzolek are all on 6 goals, with Eze not far behind on 4.

I fully expect us to go to Brammall Lane set up to defend for our lives, and try to nick a goal or two on the break. We've seen in the last few games that we are capable of breaking from defence and using pace and determination to hit teams on the break, and I can only hope our defence will hold up, and we can nick something from somewhere!

Enjoy those who are going, and COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

I hate the Blades, in our 75/76 season I went to see us up there and we absolutely mullered them hitting the woodwork 5 times but ended up 0-0, I always think that was where we lost the title as they were rock-bottom that season.

10 years later a young YTS trainee I had mentored went there to see his team Millwall and was ambushed by their fans, in defending himself he lost balance, fell backwards hitting his head on a kerbstone, he never recovered. Just 18 years old...

Started this thread too early, so a little bump here so it doesn't fall to the dreaded second page.

I am a bit gutted about this one as train fare was £80 so I thought what if they play like they did against Reading? <yikes>
I now keep thinking should I drive? Thing is I can’t drink and if we play like we did against Reading I need to be drunk.:1980_boogie_down:
    Thoughts?

I'm not judging mate. It's good to hear leavers and remainers connecting.

There was only 6000 votes more in favour of Brexit in Sheffield but latest polls suggest as they have done nationwide its flipped that result around
    50.9/49.1 originally now it’s 53/47 remain

6 people die in Sheffield each day through knife crimes and fork crimes are just behind that as many of the city’s elderly cause themselves fatal injuries while dining... The cutlery industry there is fighting off superior European products that are more eco friendly

Many factories are now male strip clubs that invite public groups of men to dress up like firemen and strip for charity

Going to be a tough game for us I think. That said, I (obviously) would love to see us get points up there. Generally we haven’t faired too bad against some of the top teams, so maybe a surprise is in the offing. Shall be listening intently to see if we can pull off an upset. Come on you Rrrrrrrrrsssssss! Come onnnnnnn!

Not yet but doubt he’ll play today. They’ve signed Gary Madine who is just an upgraded version and have Sharpe, Leon Clarke (legend) and McGoldrick so our old mate Connor is probably fifth choice now.
