I find it all excuses. we lost so we need an excuse why rather than admit our attitude stinks. you'll note city hammer a couple **** sides after getting a narrow but deserved victory over us and they are invincible.now. OH 9-0 city are so amazing. best side on planet. having tjat press and us under pressure is worth an bit of effort imo.
one might argue btw that Chelsea are in a 3 way dogfight for 4th.. they are risking cl to playing in a cup final. that's what was argued for us last 2.years as we threw fa cup. there's a reason Chelsea are most successful.club of last 10 years. it could be argued spurs are in a title race so must throw every comp... but then they've been accused of being serial bottlers so maybe they have point to prove. lfc need a wee bit more pressure on them, they have it a bit easy imo. 3 cup finals lost? you'd think throwing both cups due to poor attitude and manager selecting weak teams would put pressure on.....
Our second string (including 5th and 6th choice CBs we were forced to use due to injuries) narrowly lost away at Wolves (fingertip free kick). Man City's first team went there and drew 1-1. So let's not pretend they are "taking things seriously" by beating up on embarrassingly lower opposition whereas we are just carelessly throwing things away.
My query was about you criticising City for not learning anything? what did they do wrong? They could have played all their youngsters and still won. If Klopp had won he would have got away with it. As he lost he didn't. Whether he welcomed being defeated we'll never know but I sincerely hope he didn't.
People need to get over it. Wolves are a decent premier league team who we have just beaten in the league and they have beaten full strength Chelsea and Tottenham teams in the league. Being drawn away to them in the first round of the cup was always a bit sh!t and I am sure Klopp always had that scheduled as a rotate team time, just got unlucky with the draw.
We know City can put 5-9 goals past crap teams. Their problem is when they face even the slightest amount of resistance their defence crumbles. So yesterday didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. However good you think City are, Klopp has got Liverpool 4 points better. Some people want to ignore than and have a #meltdown because as well as having the best first XI we don't also have the depth to compete in other competitions. City are competing in the LC because they drew Oxford and Burton and have the most expensive squad in history. Chelsea and Spurs are competing in the LC because they know they won't win the PL. The attacks on Klopp's professionalism are becoming absurd.
Gini Wijnaldum formed part of a back three in the same fixture 13 months ago and is also in contention for the visit to Chris Hughton's Seagulls. Gini Wijnaldum likely to play CB.
Good comment, and I agree, but I would say that those who question the players' attitude also have a point. Whoever Klopp puts out there, for whatever reason, have a duty to put in their best effort and it sure didn't look like some did that (not mentioning names). If I were Klopp, I'd have massively rotated for that game too and wouldn't apologise for it, but I'd be really disappointed with how some players visibly didn't look arsed. Whilst I could accept in part that they might not be arsed from the manager's selection clearly indicating it was a low priority game, professionalism should (but didn't) take over. That's my issue here.
Or, city player a squad consisting of world class players against a league 1 side at home, where as we played a scratch team with 3 teenagers, 2 of them not old enough to drink... 1 not even old enough to drive, against a prem team away from home. But yewh... you can def compared the two
Chris Hughton says Virgil van Dijk can be one of Premier League's best defenders. https://www.skysports.com/football/...-can-be-one-of-premier-leagues-best-defenders
In fa cup. . it has and you know it has. explain Plymouth and wolves 2 years ago explain west Brom last year. explain wolves this year all absolutely terrible. all really poor attitude.
Henderson is now a doubt for Brighton. Fabinho most likely to play at CB. Unfortunately, it means Milner most likely to start.
I had a dream (nightmare?) last night that we lost this 7-3. But in this dream, Brighton scored 5 in the first 3 minutes, the ref asked the commentator to overrule a penalty award for us and Salah did he prematch warm up on the back of an elephant. So, pinch of salt and all that
