Eire, on the 10 players thing, I read it differently. I thought he meant that with injuries, suspensions and those players that have left we are ten players down in the squad, not that we needed 10 new players, although I can understand it also being interpreted the way you have
10 players currently missing.,. Gone or injured. Pointed out all injured ones should be back in a few weeks. No doubt he’d like some players to replace the ‘gones’ but wasn’t bleating about it. All in yep for anyone interested.
Not quite the anti Orta spin you put on it mate Pablo out, Cooper back, no Bamford, Baker gone back, Roberts playing No10, Clarke back as Sub. Now getting beyond a joke with injuries and suspensions, ideguchi has broken down in training so now needs an cruciate operation. On the Orta front Bielsa said Orta has a budget effectively and knows whats possible. He finds whats possible and comes back with names and Bielsa says yes or no. He doesnt just pass comments. He says yes or no and as we havent signed anyone yet he has obviously said no already. That means the issue is money not Orta
Not really - it could mean that +/or that Orta is not finding anyone that fits Bielsa's requirements.
With Douglas and Pablo now out we have 10 missing but all due back within a couple of weeks, including Brown who is fit now, but Bielsa wants him to get match fit first. Its not ideal We should have had a keeper and a replacement for Saiz signed up on day 1 of the window opening No point in continually going back over old ground from previous owners unless you really are a Glory who is hoping that Radz turns out to another skint wannabe and hoping we fail again. Lets just all hang on until the end of the window If we sign nobody and we fail this season I will also be a Glory type fan, but ffs lets see what happens first
Sometimes its only possible to comment on what you see at the moment. I see a coach working wonders with a minute squad who has us top of the league. I wont speculate on who were going to sign or whos going to step in from wherever to breach the gap as its pie in the sky stuff mainly, but one things for certain, Bielsa needs supporting properly or the unthinkable could happen
I always think its a good rule not to say anything about someone that you would not be prepared to say to their face.
I think that’s fair comment Eire, I’d just say that the small squad is bielsa’s choice. Our misfortune with injuries hasn’t been exponential, the unfortunate/unpredictable part has been that its tended to hit the same positions... at one point both strikers, at another both fullbacks and centrebacks. Thing is with a small squad, its more noticeable and the small squad is bielsa’s preference for well documented reasons. That said, we are top of the league, we have lost 3 first team squad members plus the injuries. With a small squad we absolutely need to replace those that have left... and we need the owner to say f*ck the ‘tight ship’, ‘working to a budget’ or whatever rhetoric they care to use for ‘don’t have a pot to piss in’... phone up his business contacts get some cash, flog some shares if he has to, seize the fking day.
Also at one point both first choice goalkeepers were out injured, although we still managed a clean sheet with third choice Huffer
On a serious note, this month could make or break our auto chances. How many losses before a 'blip' becomes a 'slump'. Fair to say, we have been really unlucky with injuries but that's the risk of a small squad in such a physically demanding division where there are so many matches to play.
Just got a message from my football agent mate who works for Stellar Group "Big signing for Leeds coming up" Won't give me a name though
