not sure what you mean, surely it shows the strength of the PL if our teams are going far in europe?

Game day and it's a crucial match against a top 6 team. I contemplated not going as I can't take my son with me this evening and it's not the same if he's not with me. Fortunately my mate texted and said he fancied going tonight and will drive so I can have a drink.

More that I would have expected at most two of the current
PL top 4 to be in said position (other PL teams would have
knocked them out of the League Cup before the SFs etc) .

I don't recall a time where 3 such teams were be in this
position at this stage of the season.

Lad had loads of skill but zero end product. Could turn out a top class player in time, or he could turn out another Bolasie in terms of all skill no substance. Rose actually handled him well I thought, think I read Sky also have Rose MOTM.

Personally thought he had an up and down game.

It might have been because he had barely any cover down the left side (sissoko isn't on that side right?) but Rose made a few good headers but was constantly overrun on that side and it was where all our crosses were coming from (some was good positioning from rose to block some) and anything dangerous was that side whereas on the other side it was a much harder struggle. I think people think he had a good game because he made 1 or 2 last ditch tackles (one at the end he injured himself on) but maybe he was unlucky as i said because azpi, kante and pedro/hudson had acres of room down that side.

As for the lad, he does have loads of skill except for shooting. I won't really blame him for the end product in this match as there was no one in the box for him to get any end product to as everyone was lining up outside the box with hazard wondering around and willian who likes to make zero runs.

    Mark the boy :

    1. A prospect
    2. No premature hype (let time take its course)

A star was not born yesterday, but he did not let his team down.
For an 18 year old in a top 4 PL side, in a game against peer
opponents, not much more you can really ask for.

I think he was just generally solid. He had a lot to deal with, as you’ve already pointed out he had zero protection but I thought he coped really well all things considered. Odoi got through a couple times, that’s to be expected, defenders rarely win every single dual in a game but on the overall 90 minutes, I felt Rose came out on top. Odoi wouldn’t have been subbed off otherwise.

Yesterday was a game that highlighted how important Dier is to us. Probably our most underrated player by opposition fans, although I think that’s because he’s generally below par for England. He and Sissoko bossed your midfield in the Prem game. Whereas your midfield bossed us last night as we had Winks there. Really hope he can be fit for the second leg.

When does sissoko turn **** again, He can’t keep this up surely ? In all honesty he’s been one of your best players recently, tearing through midfields and putting the oppo on the back foot.

There’s a few who are are doing really well at spurs atm. But I’d have to say your best player this season has been Son. The guy is so dangerous and can score any type of goal when he gets within around 20 yards of the goal.

You’ll miss him when he’s off, when is that btw and for how long ?

Except they can't, only Tottenham and Man City can as Chelsea aren't in the CL, they're in the Europa league, plus it's January FFS, just over half-way, I don't think it's unheard of for 3 of the top 4 teams to be in the league cup semi-final and to have made it passed the 3rd round of the FA cup.

Off after the Man Utd game.

May not start a game for Korea until Jan 20/22, would at the latest be
back for the Leicester game (Feb 10) .

As he is now exempt from military service, the sooner Korea are out, the better.

Believe me, everyone is surprised at just how good he’s been.

It’s between him and Son for our player of the season. Son had a pretty poor start but has been blistering the last few months. Sissoko has just been fantastic all the way through.

Think Son’s last game is Utd then away for three weeks I think. Gutted he won’t be here for the Chelsea second leg. Although when he was off form, Lucas and Lamela were bang on, so hopefully history repeats and all that.

I said UEFA (I am making no distinction between the competitions, both require a
similar number of games to be played in conjunction with the business end of the
    league season) .

"I don't think it's unheard of for 3 of the top 4 teams to be in the league cup semi-final
and to have made it past the 3rd round of the FA cup."

But not that common IMHO (I cannot recall offhand the last time it happened) .

you said 'the' quadruple, which is CL, FA, carabo & league, if you're including Europey as part of the quadruple you may as well add the charity shield.

Yea i thought he was okay. Fyi odoi went off cause he was probably tired and having zero inpact after he got switched to the left side. Not cause rose was marking him <laugh>. He wasnt on roses side from like the 60th min onwards

Tbh sissoko has always had the athletic ability. Hes found a place as a key cog to this spurs team as he is using his physicality and energy properly. Ask him to unlock a defence and hes useless but with so much space on the field and using him to make space in counter attacks as well as to defend hes looking really good.
