Dyche got a good team together on a limited budget, and did well ever since, even if they go down this season he has done a good job with them. Middlesbrough spent money well and it showed. Brighton were similar to Burnley, good management. It's hard to say Bruce was bad, he was competent, had the defence organised much of the time and we had enough to beat Wednesday. But that Wednesday got to the playoff final anyway tells you enough about that season and how it just worked out for us.
Sadly true but there is a possibility that they are sorting out the wage bill first by moving players on. That might leave some budget for a couple of 'low cost' replacements but clearly there isn't going to be a push for the play-offs. Ehab would have just listened to Nigel's requests, nodded and agreed in principle and said "we'll see"
Pete O'Rourke@SportsPeteO Dinamo Moscow and Alanyaspor have made loan offers for Hull City striker Nouha Dicko. Several other clubs are also keen on the Mali international. #hcafc #dinamomoscow #alanyaspor
Talks have been ongoing for a long while now. He’s really unhappy at the club so no surprise he’s going.
He looked unhappy after he’d scored against Bolton. Contrast how all the players celebrated around Martin with the muted celebrations around Dicko. Thought it odd at the time. Maybe not a team player?
Must imagine he's frustrated at being so far down the pecking order and in particular behind Martin. Still feel he's a much better option off the bench than Martin and seeing them both at Millwall made me wish again we could return Martin and keep Dicko for rest of the season.
He doesn’t fit the role of being able to hold the ball up and bring Grosicki or Bowen into play. I like Dicko, but he’s better suited to a front 2 big man little man combination.
True. Before joining us, particularly over 3 seasons at Wolves, he had a very good scoring record. Different system. Very decent player who knows where the goal is. Just not the set up for him here.
I agree that in theory that's what Martin does - but did you see him at Millwall? I really thought after his goal v Bolton he might kick on but his control and hold up play at Millwall was really poor. Sometimes wondered if Dicko is best as a wide forward (which is why I think he's more someone to come on for Bowen or Grosicki) and think I read that's the position from which he scored a lot of goals at Wolves? Anyway, I suspect he'll be off and Martin will stay.
If they’ve made their first loan signing why could it be announced before weekend ? Why wouldn’t it ?
IF.... results continue to move along nicely... IF.... we did miraculously find ourselves on the fringes of the play off places... IF.... there were 1/2 incoming this window that made us think 'hang on a minute'... what would that put on the gate... 2000...? at £20 average a ticket = £40k ... home game average every other week, might mean £20k a week available for someone...?
