Never heard Chipper in relation to the chip shop until it was mentioned previously on this site. Doon Sooth it has always been Chippy, it appears only Micks and Monkeys call it the Chipper or even Chip Oil in certain parts of UpNorthernShire. What dipping/pouring/sauce accoutrements do you savages have? Curry sauce Gravy Mushy peas Baked beans etc I follow the mantra - fish, battered sausage or saveloy = red sauce. Pie, pasty or normal sausage = brown sauce. Scampi = tartare sauce.
