Match Day Thread FA CUP Norwich v Portsmouth

I think this is the 7th or 8th season that we haven’t got past round 3 of the FA Cup.

 

Can see why a lot of them don’t get a start. Happy with a late loss. Tragic defending. But midweek trip to pompey would have been worse case senario, and we never looked like scoring.

 

I'm sure red cards count across all competitions. It's just the yellows that don't anymore.

 

It will depend on whether it was given for last man or violent conduct I guess. Have to wait and see really.

 

Hanley hasn't played since September I believe , gets a game and lasts 10 mins got to feel for him .

I'm actually glad we don't have any more distractions.
We never get TV games and we aren't going to win the FA cup so another pointless replay on the South Coast would be a nightmare going into the business end of the season .

The winner was quite good too tbf

2 points from #1 @ present so bigger fish to fry for us .

 

First competitive match I go to watch in years and we get a player sent off in the first 15 minutes and concede in the last minute, so not great Not what I was hoping but all things considering, we did well with 10 men for most of that game. Impressive away support from Pompey.

Glad we don't have a replay though, focus on the league.

I must say. Saturday Evening, long way to Norwich. Only a Cup match.

Those Portsmouth fans were great, and I couldn't believe the numbers. The away section was about 3x bigger than the away section for teams like Millwall and Rotherham in the league recently!

Definitely being last man that gave Grant Hanley his red, I’ve been told. Not the tackle. So will be a one-game ban: West Brom (a). #ncfc

 

As I said in a post earlier. He was a fair way from goal. There was a line of Norwich players across the pitch.

If it was the opposition, they wouldn't have been sent off. I thought it looked very harsh at the time.

 

Did Hanley get called for the foul earlier when the Pompey player actually ran into him? Big Grant barely moved and the opponent when to the ground.
