Paying taxes with benefits paid for by those who do. As taxes on smoking and alcohol contribute far more in taxes than the cost to the NHS then smokers and drinkers should get priority for treatment instead of being lectured and told they should pay for treatment of smoking and drink related ailments. On this sort of logic we should give everyone £50,000 a week and the taxes on what they spend it on will somehow mean everything is paid for and we are all well off.

I didn't go off line. I fell asleep. Whether that was the Pussers Gunpowder Proof Rum, Budvar and Gin Tonics or reading your stuff that caused it I'm not sure. As I wasn't wrong the reason is immaterial anyway. I think Thatchers make decent cider. I presume you are talking about them as you are using the present tense. If you are referring to a deceased politician I expect to see OLM along to remind you of the no politics rule.
