Their wage bill last year was £65m, their income this year will also be about £65m, but until the accounts come out there's no way of knowing how much the wage bill has fallen since relegation (they'll definitely have a much higher percentage than us though).
They have said they will be giving £50 million away to family and friends. Maybe after taking care of themselves after that they would be interested in wasting the rest. I was planning what to do if I won it. Banning lists were already drawn up...
If I won that amount and someone asked me about begging letters, I'd say I'm still going to send them.
If I won as much as that, IdI give most of it away. In fact I'd go from worrying about my lack of money, to worrying about who to give it to. So I suppose i wouldn't change much
Various dog rescue centres, the RNLI and animal welfare charities would get a good chunk. And a 20p in my will for one of my lads to remind if he had spent that ringing now again except when he wanted a favour, and hadn't bothered with getting things like Mother's Day cards he would have got a share.
Yes but if you are in asset stripping mode a lot of the high earners are going to be shown the door early and hence the low ratio. Filling yer boots Ehab you ****.
Surely everyone should should refuse the money to make sure they are happy and remain loyal? Forget bettering yourself and your family that isn't important.
I'd ask my friends and coworkers who wants a million pounds. Then have them gather and fight to the death for it in a Battle Royale style scenario until one survivor remains, in the words of the great W.E. Henley, 'bloodied but unbowed'. Then buy myself a massive yacht and chuck them £50. They say money changes people. Can't see it happening.
please log in to view this image David Burns@bbcburnsy It may just be me but I'm detecting a bit of a sea-change in the thinking @HullCity . I'm picking-up a vibe that the owners fancy a dart at the play-offs. I'm not suggesting that suddenly there's a loosening of the purse strings but I think possibilities are being seen. #hcafc Oh no. No, no no no no. NO. You had your chance you pair of badger bollocks, too little, too late. Nobody is going to sell their soul for promotion, some of us have scruples.
Don't get my wrong, I like Burnsy, but didn't he tell us, not so long ago, that the club was on the verge of being sold, or was that because he believed what King Herbert Lloyd said?
Depends what you mean by ‘sell their soul’ but I can guarantee promotion would increase attendances...whether we like it or not
No idea. It was Lloyd who stoked the fire. Burns has always been pessimistic that a deal wouldn't go through.
