I don't think it was me but I said all along that I wasn't a fan of Adkins. That said, I am a realist and he has proven me wrong. I think those who were putting blind faith in him were wrong but that's human nature I suppose. Seeing Toral and Dicko doing well again is enough for me, my sticking point was that though we have a thin squad, there were still players there that could be used with the right coaching and it seems like thats happening now.
What's that about blind faith? Maybe, only maybe, people knew more about football than you? Could happen and it clearly has happened
Your one of the better posters on here. About 2 months back everybody was calling for Adkins head. Those people are probably like me, pleasantly surprised. The few that were supporting him were doing it on blind faith/head in the sand syndrome. I don't see whats wrong with saying that at all.
no blind faith or head in sand from me, I watched us v sheff utd Middlesboro and leeds after which most people were saying he is clueless etc yet I saw good play spoilt only by defensive errors. we could have got 6 points or more out of those games and I thought to myself against lesser teams we would have picked up 9 points. And that's when I predicted we would go and win our next 6 games. We didn't but our form picked up dramatically and if I could see that, how come all the idiots phoning Humberside calling him a joke etc couldn't? That's because they didn't want to. Ive seen it so many times before, its like a huge wave gathering momentum and all the trigger happy idiots want the manager sacked after a run of only 10 games as if that is the end of the world. Short termism and the lunatics have taken over the asylum. Not one of the fools blaming adkins could see the hand he'd been dealt with by the owners. Burnsy and swanny were saying every game the players just arent good enough for this level. ie the manager hasn't a chance. But no lets hound huim out of a job. Its what we fans do. And how he dealt with grosicki was ace instead of sucking up to him and playing him the moment he decided he wasn't going to sulk anymore like most of the fans would have done, instead he made him sweat.
Not for too much longer mate. If Leeds United get promoted I'll be one of the better posters over there You do know I'm joking right?
I wouldn't say it was 'blind faith'. It was more a case of knowing that he's a good manager, making the best of bad situation.
I was calling for his head which was no doubt coming from frustration he didn't always play Grosicki and Bowen and we sat back and defended rather than really going for it. He had also failed miserably at Reading and Sheffield Utd recently which maybe clouded judgement as well I was completely and utterly wrong and I've never been so happy to be wrong!
RH just played an Adkins interview with Gwilym and he said... It wasn't necessarily the end for Keane, you never know, there's always the possibility of a recall. Also that Fletcher hadn't appeared for Boro this season. You'd think he'd know that you can no longer recall a loan player outside a transfer window and Fletcher's made eleven appearances for Boro so far this season.
They recalled him in the January transfer window, they just told us they were doing it before the window and we decided not to play him.
Cheers I was thinking it was Villas call that we didn’t play him I’d have played him, but in hindsight I’d probably have been wrong to!
There is a possibility of recall in the January transfer window then. As for Fletcher's appearances that could easily be bad information fed to him by those actually in charge of the transfer business.
