Haven't had one of these for a while? Anyway, with back to back defeats following back to back wins now should be a good time to do this and get a balanced set of predictions. So how many from... Chelsea (A) D Leicester (A) W Everton (H) W Palace (H) D Burnley (A) D Cardiff (H) L 3 very tough games followed by 3 very winnable ones. I reckon we''ll get two wins, two draws and two defeats making 8 points.
Chelsea (A) 2-0 L Leicester (A) 1-1 D Everton (H) 0-0 D Palace (H) 3-1 W Burnley (A) 1-0 L Cardiff (H) 2-1 W 8 Should be reasonable from those fixtures, but I suspect we may get 7...the important thing may be who we get the points from.
Very important we get something out of each of the last 3 games, but we don't want to lose the first 3, as that would be 5 in a row. So: Chelsea D Leicester W Everton L Palace W Burnley D Cardiff W 11 points would be super, please.
We have done better away in the whole of 2018 17 away points which is 12th best. Stating the obvious we must do better at home and Everton, palace and Cardiff are good places to start. Last season we got 5 points less Cardiff out of those fixtures. 8 pts should be a minimum requirement.
Chelsea (A) - loss Leicester (A) - loss Everton (H) - draw Palace (H) - win Burnley (A) - loss Cardiff (H) - draw 5 points
Chelsea (A) L Leicester (A) L Everton (H) W Palace (H) W Burnley (A) W Cardiff (H) D 10 points. Should be enough to put us above the line.
I think the hardest games here are Chelsea and Leicester. Puel seems to have the hoodoo over us albeit I think we are overdue to give them a spanking. I can appreciate the frustration of the Foxes fans as you can never be sure which Leicester team will turn up. Everton will be interesting too. They are usually another bogey team but have produced some really poor results over Christmas. It will be intriguing to see how Silva does and whether he remains in his position. Food for thought for those Saints fans calling for his appointment a few months back. I still think Cardiff will go down. We need to beat them. Burnley are a team like Saints who are finding themselves lower in the league that they would have expected. A difficult match where I would be concerned in the Palace one. These seem to get the better of us recently and I think Hodgson should have the nous to pull them clear. For me, I still see Fulham and Huddersfield as prime candidates. Who will join them seems like a matter of conjecture at the moment. I would like to see Ralph establish a regular squad. Pick the players that can be relied upon and have the fringe players for back up. Not convinced that squad rotation is what we need. The team neds to get some confidence. Can't see that happening when the line up is being changed fundamentally each week.
Umm. He’s rotated the squad once. Against City. Hardly a definitive tinkerman tactic underway there....
yep and when we had 3 games in 7 days...two against two of the most skilful and tiring sides in the world...
Well, we've got one unexpected point. Leicester will give us bugger all. But then I'm expecting 4 straight wins. 13 points, then. Unlike FLT, I'm even sober when I sat that.
I think we’ll get something at Leicester and it is too early to consider my alcohol intake. I’ve had shreddded wheat though.
We got points off United, Arsenal and Chelsea, so no reason that we couldn't get something off Leicester even though they are in form at the moment. We have to start getting points off the middle to low teams if we want to climb the table. Let's start with Leicester.
Chilcs is the Oracle at the moment. Though I hope he gets one result wrong. Maybe he just doesn't fancy doing all 6 game threads....
