I know you love a whipping boy, but I'm struggling to see how your blaming lovren for that performance. We just where not very good, set up was wrong, we didn't play to our best against the best team in the league and still could of come away with a draw. **** me, some of you are either very lazy and have no interest in football other than shouting along with Facebook or your maybe about 13 and should really be in bed by now.
city's intensity and desire dragged them through. at 1-1 the result was in balance but you could see how poor our shape was and we never really got set to control the game at any time.
Nah thought it was a good game and don't think you can have any complaints about the result. Think Klopp may have tgor the midfield wrong which means you suffered in creativity. Be interesting to see how you respond to it
It was a game that City had to win otherwise the title is ours. No doubt about that from most people , pundits to fans. They showed it: more passion, first to 50/50 balls, harder in the tackle and in the main deserved the win. Having said that we were too negative, the key players didn’t turn up, our midfield was powderpuff and Lovren...what else do we need to say about him? If he plays the opposition has a chance. Now it’s all about our reaction to a first defeat. Those who say that they think that they would have taken being 4 points ahead at this point of the season are only half right. It’s all about momentum and confidence. The confidence of City will be high and they have momentum after a blip. We have to avoid that depression that inevitably follows a defeat that breaks a very long run. It happens however good you are: it’s happened to City, Chelsea, the mancs , the Arsenal invincibles in the past. Klopp will need to get the players back on song. We need just to forget the past 25 or so seasons and the occasions when we came close. We just need to accept there is now a race but we are still very much in the driving seat.
Simple yes or no... Its 1 August 2018 and you're offered a 4pt lead after the 21st league game of the season, do you take it?
I don't particularly think we got it wrong..... I think really we should give city credit for what they brought to the game to over run us. The reality check A) play Shaq in 4231 and we would get over run. B) play Keita in 4231 and he might be tucked in on left and enable mane to play tight but again we'd be over fun in midfield. C) play fabinho.... ok he did fine when he came on bug it wasn't easy and he's got no pace after all... It's not like the system was a shock of any sort cos klopps gone that way every big game. The reality is we couldnt pass it and gavevthem 63% possession first half. You cannot win with stat like that. We needed approaching parity.
I would take it ...BUT like everything in life context is important. There is a difference between these situations: 1. Before Christmas we were 10 points ahead, we lose many games and we are now 4 points ahead. 2. Before Christmas we were 4 points behind, we win all our games and now we are 4 points ahead. These examples are not meant to represent our own situation but it shows that although at that point in time we have the same points, the first scenario is not good whereas the second is good. Like I said even before the match it is our response That is now key. If we draw the next match and we are only 2 points ahead, I am sure there will be people here who will say” if on 1 August you had given me 2 points lead in the first week of January I’d snapped your hand off”
You'd be laughed at for even suggesting it Reality is city could draw next game. Who knows. We just go try win next game now. January Brighton Palace Leicester Take 9 points out of 9 hopefully.
But the only choices are Keita, lallana, shaqiri, or fabinho..... the first three would have been run off park
The 'would you have taken a 4pt lead before the season started' question is putting it into context. I've seen some Man City fans already say we had a 10pt lead at one point. Technically stifling we did but it was only because we played the day before Man City #context
