7 totally wasted years since then, the odd flicker of what he was but mainly big attitude and a talent wasted and a really malign influence behind the scenes. We're just picking up the pieces he helped smash so thanks for the memories...
I don't think he's saying that, think he's suggesting as an all round contributor to efforts on the pitch, Wegerle out-performed Adel, but when he turned it on, Adel was unstoppable. Adel couldn't have done what he did though, without the protection Hill, Derry, Faurlin and others gave him, although without him, we'd never have won the title that season. He failed to live up to all that promise once we hit the PL, threw a big tantrum and the rest is history. Thanks for the memories.....
As it said many times before Adel was superb in championship but except few matches in the prem he was disapointing, overweight and fractious player on the higher level. Wegerle played his whole qpr career on the highest level althought he has also his good periods and bad periods its impossible to say who is better of those two. After Taarabt left from LR he has played few good matches in milan and in genoa but i have to say he has had just one good seson on his career and its happen in the championship, the second level of english football.
Yes, i did but i remember him as a one season wonder too. He was magnificent 2010-2011 but in a prem he let us down several times.
I remember him playing fantastic games in both the Championship and the PL, but any idea of him coming back to us now is illusory.
I don't think he let us down in the Premier League. I agree he had the one fantastic season. Wegerle had a few good seasons. I'm not arguing that Taarabt contributed more in minutes on the pitch. What I am saying is that he was light years ahead of Wegerle in ability.
Lightyear is bit over exaggeration. I remeber wegery well and he was very good too Both were very sklful but tad a lazy players...I saw many Taraabt matches too and i was very impressed of him but then i felt he let us down big time in the end. He had a magnificent ability but...
I take the point. However, imo he was immensly talented and I absolutely loved watching him that season. Worth 10 seasons of most other players.
My opinion is based on watching his skill level and to date first hand I have only seen one player who can completely control and change a football match ... that was Zindane when at Bordeaux Taarabt remains the only player I believe that had that natural talent Forget Messi and Ronaldos they are brilliant but goal scorers with brilliant tricks and brilliant tricks We judge the above with our perception of what we are brainwashed to believe through the media Taarabt’s football brain was on another level and so often his train of thought was way advanced with ball play ... others around him couldn’t operate at his level or read his genius or touch He gave the ball away a lot so it seemed at times because the players around him just couldn’t get it so most times he was forced to do his own thing I believe other players were spell bound and at times just let him get on with it ... same at every place he has been . In the premiership on occasions he was clearly the best footballer on the pitch He would of been a world star if he played in a Arsenal team of old imo . He needed a lot of team coaching imo and the media ate him up as a one man band ... he was but that’s because no one was on his level Opposition fans and the media hated him I believe because of his Arabic heritage but he put the fear into any side ... has anyone to date seen a player roll a shot with the outside of his foot like he did against Arsenal and Fulham ? Nope no one knew when he would shoot or come to that play a wonder pass from anywhere on the pitch Zidane did the same at that early age Strong like a ox with a range of passing and shooting I have never seen again A prat off the pitch but that don’t ever matter to me That’s not football
