Tymon may have thought he wasn’t actually as good as was being made out, and felt the need to capitalise on the media attention.

If that was the case it was probably a smart move by him.

Keane, horrid injury record notwithstanding, actually has all the attributes to make a great striker. If he manages to stay fit and gets a prolonged run in a team there’s every chance he could kick on. Hasn’t happened for him here.

I think that’s a valid point, he was definitely hyped above and beyond anything he’d shown on the pitch in the senior team.

Or anywhere yet. Still a big gamble for a team who basically need to go on a winning run. You’d think they would go for a mercenary who is proven st this level.

If that was true, he wouldn't have got the deal he did at Stoke.

He had a stinker against Spurs, but certainly didn't look out of his depth in most games.

Good point. On signing for Stoke, I think he refered to him choosing them over a clutch of others but was that true?

Whatever the case, it's probably well for all concerned he left, we got a good deal and so did he.

Would it now be a big surprise to anyone, that by the time he's 26/27, he's playing local non-league football?

Tymon looked like a promising young player , which is exactly what he was

I've no idea what he was offered but we've moved on since then

I imagine he was under some pressure from parents/agent if he was offered a much better deal at another club
it's easy for us to say we would play for Hull City whatever the contract offered was

See, this is one of the many reasons I'd be rubbish if I was involved in football.

I'd keep Tymon and pair him, up with Werder Bremens Johannes Eggestein, just to hear the commentators say "Tymon, Johannes".

The parents/agent angle is probably an important point and how much it was it his own decision?

It'll never be tested of course, but at his age, with a reasonable contract on offer, I would have signed it.

I know this because I support Hull City.

His uncle was bragging on Facebook a year before he left how much he was going to get, with promises of Man U and Liverpool. They all got a chauffeur driven limo etc to take them to the Man U game. Completely hoodwinked them.
I get what you mean about hull city fan.
But I would say the same to a young kid who plays for Norwich, Bristol whoever. Stay where you're supported and looked after and all you do is concentrate on your football with no upheaval.

The decision for quite a few seems to be between getting more money than you can realistically spend, or twice as much as that.

Simply put, it’s a societal issue and it’s all about maximum income uber alles.

I’m sure it’s highly plausible Tymon could have earnt enough here to be more than comfortable regardless of his future, then, if he was the real deal, moved on at the right time.

In life, I’d rather make less money but make money that is more alligned with my morals. I wouldn’t work for certain organisations for example, even for a huge wage increase.

I don’t equate everything to my bank balance.

But, as a society, money making is king. Look at the influence ****s like Sugar have in this country.

This is your opinion on him on his first league appearance.

You didn’t comment on the MDT for his second league appearance other than a rant about Pulis, so here’s some other people’s reviews

He started and played the full 0-0 away at Man U where he struggled badly and got a kick in the bollocks (I remember that game). Can’t be arsed to look thru the thread as it’s enormous.

Came on as a second half sub on the left wing next game when we beat Liverpool 2-0 at home. Same massive thread as above.

Then didn’t play again for 3 and a half months til the Tottenham debacle.

I’d say one of the reasons his contract offer wasn’t a brilliant one was because his agent and Ehab didn’t get on. Ehab was probably pleased to get him out the building.

#hcafc are happy to let Will Keane join Ipswich in order to let Nigel Adkins bring in another attacking option. It's just not worked out for Keane at the KCOM Stadium.

See that is where we differ, also linked to the post of yours before.

If I had a choice of working for Hull City a club I support but a club whose morals are nearly identical to all other football clubs or for Stoke where I could earn millions over 5 years and give me and my family the opportunity to set ourselves up for life I would choose that. I would choose the money that could give my children a great future over playing for Hull City.

He may have been able to move on in the future, but he could have broken his leg or actually turned out to be a poor footballer. Either one of those means in 3 years he may never work in football again.

I would choose the stability of money over the risk you would choose. It's not about trying to earn the most money its about setting your family up for life and making sure they are looked after. Football is a very different industry and hard to compare to our jobs and society. But from a financial and logic point of view I get Tymon's thinking I don't get yours.

Admittedly I work in an industry where we do chase big money and I continue to do so. But I run my own business and the moral's of this business are excellent, I don't think earning big money and working for a company with morals are mutually exclusive.

    Yes.
We won't go up this season, we won't now go down.
    We desperately need new ownership.
    All hypothetical anyway.
