Mixed feelings. That was , without doubt, an exceptional result. It is gutting that the other results did not go our way!! Really irritating.
Given is record is 1\1 from what I recall, maybe he has a point. James always seems to hit a goodish freekick but very rarely scores
I was actually against giving Gunn a chance, thought it would be harsh on macca who has been great for us. But after that I’ll be amazed if he doesn’t start for us now. Unbelievably solid, quick off his line, commanding. Just seems the better keeper to be honest.
Saints fans in the away end at Stamford Bridge were chanting Angus Gunn's name to the tune of Baby Shark.
Gunn has been highly rated by City and others for a few years now. I think a few posters in Pre Season said to expect Gunn to be Number 1 by the New Year. Am I right in thinking City have a buy back clause with him?
Too early to worry about other results now imo, just do what we need to do in the window and we should be fine.
No - I think you should try to field the strongest team you have available. There were too many changes against City but it would appear he got it right tonight. I would like to see a strong line up for the FA cup too. Keep a squad performing well and getting results so that the confidence does not wain. It will be interesting to see what happens with the fringe players hereon in. I am not a fan of unnecessary squad rotation. Those players performing best get the nod with players rested only for injury, fatigue or lack of form. You play well , you keep your place.
It's just a great position to be in, a current England player and a future England player, there is no doubt that Angus will supercede Alex here and internationally too, just a matter of when.
Absolutely. I wonder if anyone has enquired about McCarthy (think someone did in the summer from memory) and Ralph is checking what assets are saleable without impacting the team too hard (Macca, Cedric, Hoedt, Gabbi). May be overthinking it, but those four out would be a decent couple in.
