https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football Chelsea have signed Borussia Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic for 64m euros (£58m), but will loan him to the German club until the end of the season. The 20-year-old United States international, who was linked with Liverpool and Arsenal, joined Dortmund as a youth player in 2015. Pulisic has scored nine goals in 23 games for the US. "It was always Christian's dream to play in the Premier League," said Dortmund director Michael Zorc. "That certainly has to do with his American background, and as a result we were unable to extend his contract. "Against this background, we have decided to accept an extremely lucrative bid by Chelsea, given the low contract maturity." Pulisic's contract at Dortmund was due to expire in June 2020. Dortmund who lead the Bundesliga by six points and are through to the last 16 of the Champions League, where they will play Tottenham.
Nice. Not sure why we have loaned him back to Dortmund though We kinda need goalscorers now.....but never mind.
Hopefully not. Pulisic and Hazard, along with a goal scoring striker will make us title contenders I reckon.
I don't know enough about him, presumably a wide forward? Seems Sancho's emergence at BVB has curtailed his first team chances.
Probably a condition of the sale which makes sense in a way as there would be many bidders if we had to wait until the summer window.
Never seen him play but I know he’s quite highly rated. Weird that Sarri said recently about wanting to sign a winger rather than a striker but we still loan him out for half a season.... Hopefully he replaces Willian and not Hazard!
Not sure why a winger is a priority, with Hazard, Willian and Pedro, thats arguably the one area where we are strongest. Its a striker we need!
I dunno, Pedro is in his 30’s and Willian is almost there isn’t he? He’s massively out of form too, good to freshen it up a bit.
Should have got him in immediately and loaned them CHO. 6 months of Bundesliga would see him one of the best , certainly better than anyone we've got except Hazard, who now looks odds on for Real.
We just cannot score for toffee. We need a striker, and some more creativity in midfield to break down stubborn defences. No decent striker, and we cannot rely on Hazard just running into defenders all the time and getting lucky.
