In hindsight, not too bad a series of ‘Festive Fixtures’ and let’s hope that DF and his coaching staff look at how easily/frequently our opponents score from corners/set pieces and take corrective action. Our immediate threats for promotion have all suffered over the same period and our game against the Blades on 26th (could be re-arranged due to their progress in the FA Cup!!) takes on MASSIVE significance.
Edit – we also have the small matter of a trip to the Hawthorns on the 12th.and hopefully some of our appalling injuries should have cleared up by then.<yikes>

Fingers crossed that the injured can return. Hanley, McLean and Marshall are fit again and should play on Saturday. Trybull will also get more game time, as should Rhodes and Srbeny.

I mean the performance, with the fatigue and injuries, with results elsewhere. Did not see Leeds and WBA both losing again. Villa drew, Boro Drew, Derby drew.

Even Ipswich through away a lead to lose again.

The ref decisions are f**king ridiculous. But that's just standard now.

I was going to say that too. He made a couple of excellent saves today. I think after being on the bench or out on loan for a year or two it took a while for him to get into the groove, but the last couple of games has made some good saves.

....now we have two weeks to fix our set piece defending!

Sadly 2 points from 9 in three games. Will DF try to strengthen defense in transfer window?

I agree CS2010, but if you look at our form over the last 10 games (up to Saturday). then it's not all doom and gloom and the 'saving grace' for me is the form of the teams around us, with the exception of the Blades.
    Check the form table - https://www.not606.com/threads/lies-damned-lies-and-statistics.367638/page-2#post-12428135 #post 35
Edit - From PD's pointers - 'His room for manoeuvre may have contracted again with fresh injuries but with McLean desperate for a game and some talented youngsters below the first team group why not roll the dice? What happens at Carrow Road this weekend will not define the season.'

Some great comments from Tk in his interview with MB - 'That’s one reason why we are so strong at the moment and we need to keep doing that. You saw even here, we had two not-unimportant injuries with Alex Tettey and Marco Stiepermann. I hope they’re not too bad. But it shows you a lot. The young players come in, they fight for the lads, everyone sticks together and fights for the fans. If you saw how many came out again at Brentford, it’s just unbelievable.'

Interesting to read the views of Leeds fans after 2 consecutive losses. It's amazing how quickly things can change. Here's one of the more positive ones:

"Perversely quite enjoyed that game - loved the start of the 2nd half and the attitude of Bielsa and the team - the **** it we’ve only got 10 men but we’ll still be the better team. Thought it was a good performance and there was mistakes that cost us but the players have been told to play a certain way and given the freedom to play a certain way and some times it’s going to cost us but more often so far it’s worked for us and I’d much more watch our team lose like that then not even go for it to try and lose respectably or hold out for a set-piece. As for attacking the players - what’s the point? We always claim that we’ll support anybody who plays for the shirt and puts in an honest effort and I’m struggling to think of anybody this year who hasn’t done that. Yes people have made mistakes and had off days but they’ve all put the effort in (because they know if they don’t they’ll be off that pitch as quickly as Bielsa’s translator can send the message). There’s just no point attacking BPF - he’s turning up, trying his best and if that’s not good enough then it’ll be addressed in this transfer window."

Much of it is like we've been saying since Derby and Brentford. Interesting that most think they need to strengthen their squad this window. Many are critcising their players but few see the manager as the problem (even though he's still using a translator). It helped me see our own position more clearly.

We are not anywhere near promoted yet and over the last few weeks/months when some of us have been talking about upgrading our keeper when we go up because Krul can't hack it it in the PL and similar, I feel myself wincing .
Leeds of all people know how to choke and blow a promotion campaign.

I much prefer it when the media focus on Frank Lampard's Derby sleeping giants Leeds and massive clubs like Forrest and Villa and let little old Norwich plug away under the radar .

I believe we can go up but starting a thread declaring that it's a done deal is a bit daft at this stage .

WOW Dunc – that has to be one of the best posts I’ve seen on here this year (no, correction) in ages.
Any team can blow up and just ask Leeds fans in 2010-2011 – they were in automatic (I think top actually and finished 7th, 12 points behind us in 2nd!!!!
Edit - I'm tempted to book a room at Watford Premier Inn for 27th May and I can easily cancel it if I don't need it!!! :emoticon-0102-bigsm
