    Anfield legend Peter Thompson has died aged 76.

    A player for the era of shankly and Liverpool's first fa cup win.

    Same here. 1965 FA Cup Final. Went to his pub in the Lake District a couple of times. Total madhouse on both occasions, full of Scousers on a pilgrimage to see The Man. Very sad. GKRK

    Stevie Heighway used trickery that he obviously learned from watching Peter before taking over from him when he retired, that in itself speaks volumes about his importance and stature at the club.
    Peter Thompson joined Shankly's revolution that helped put LFC on the map and put us on the road to decades of success, thanks Thommo.<ok>
