Match Day Thread Vs Arsenal (H)

We're a very above average team, getting very below average penalties. That's a large discrepancy. And it's a discrepancy that only appears in PGMOL games (not CL games).

PL home penalties awarded: 0

 

There are so many factors that affect the chance of getting penalties. The systems teams play, the defenders recklessness etc. It is not just referees surely. And how is getting to the CL final linked to no PL home penalties awarded? How do you explain that West Ham have got a much higher % than anyone else and the pgmol’s paymasters only got average?

Some of us love to play the victim but success and failure depend sometimes on ourselves and how good we are not others.

 

When it's for us like the Stoke handball we have multiple officials unable to see the most blatant action ever. When it's against us like Spurs we have the referee overheard on mic saying "I didn't see anything so I'm just going to give it".

West Ham are an average team subject to normal variance. Anfield is well known as the place for refs to go to prove their strength by "standing up to the Kop" and giving LFC nothing.

 

If you asked the fans of any of the 19 other clubs in the premiership they could tell you similar examples of blatant ref bias: barn door penalties not being given, dives being given against them, offside goals being given against them and good goals being ruled out . We could fill this whole board with that stuff.

This does not mean that the PGMOL has got a bias or even worse a conspiracy against this club or any other.

Tbf to Astro he is bringing evidence and what certainly could be construed as facts
You are just saying - no you are wrong in different ways but with nothing to back it up

I do think Dyche would like a moment for rebuttals though but Astro has sort of covered it if he did

So I stand by my original comment of he makes a convincing argument

 

That’s why football is for fans so emotional. We all see matches differently. Our perception of players performance differ even among fans of the same club.

If we are going to bring examples of wrong decisions to the table then we have to also look at the other wrong decisions affecting other clubs so that a comparison can be made. How often have we heard and read that complaint from fans of so called smaller clubs that referees tend to rule against them and always give the benefit to big clubs? Is this true and does anyone have the actual proof of that?

Like I said it is easy to bring examples but that’s not evidence of bias because other opposing fans can bring theirs too. It is only “evidence “ or “convincing argument” if the amount of wrong decisions is decisively shown to be abnormally and significantly above the other clubs and cannot be ruled out by sheer randomness or chance. As I said earlier in such a distribution one will be highest and one will be lowest.

Congrats on thrashing arsenal. Thought first one was a pen seen them given and not). Second one was soft, you see them happen all the time but would prefer if players stopped pushing each other in the box (consistency argument).

Lacazettes one was a pen but tbh i thought he dived until the super slow mo.

There was no way le arse where getting anything from the match, you boys were rampant and were far better. There defending was comical, especially for the first and second
