Depends on who goes. Right now, the three senior players who appear to be totally frozen out are Hoedt, Cedric and Gabbiadini, and it wouldn't be surprising if all three were shifted. Davis also appears to be a goner. Forster maybe gets loaned? JWP also doesn't seem to have a role, but might be more of a summer decision. Of those, only Cedric needs to be replaced in terms of sheer squad numbers, but we could absolutely do with a good CB, a creative attacking player who can slot in centrally or on the left side of a front three, and a defensive-minded midfielder to provide support to the defense and win back possession. We have many needs, but that's probably the maximum we can accomplish in a winter window. I'd expect more departures than arrivals in any instance, though.
I can see why he likes Romeu, he has his knockers but he gives everything. Obviously Lemina is a more attacking option and overall the better player, but the amount of times he lost the ball on Thursday was shocking. Romeu keeping it simple seems to fit the game plan
It’s not just Thursday when he conceded a lot of possession. It is a big part of his game and is all the more frustrating for knowing what he can do. It’s as if he loses concentration at the moment he passes the ball.
Pressing is our game now. For everyone. He has to learn and RH has, I guess, seen enough to know he will get there. Honestly don’t think we will see any incoming players in January. For the first time in a long time, we’ve actually appointed a ‘coach’ who is prepared to get the best out of the existing squad AND achieve the goals set for him.
Not sure about that, there will be certain players who don't need to press anywhere near as much and I suspect Romeu is one of them.
