Morning all. Grey but dry and cold. The family who were staying in their mobile home have decided to try and get home by tonight as they ran out of gas during the night and had no heating. So they have left early, and hope to get their crossing via the tunnel brought forward from tomorrow. Just started to notice things they have left behind in the rush to get going. First job of the day is a visit to the bottle bank. It looks as though we have had a good time judging by the number of empties.
Good morning all. Having looked at the New Years Honours, I feel that as Cook will be playing for Essex, the K should have waited until he retires from all first-class cricket. Ever since she retired, I've thought that the high honour in cricket should be a Damehood for Charlotte Edwards - she had a 20 year international career, most of them as England captain and was one of the main people involved in the process of introducing professionalism into women's cricket in England.
Dave can we have 3 points today please? Delia get those special mince pies in the oven. And Pukki get those goal scoring boots on. This could be one of those deciding games when we look back in May. Pity it clashes with the 'orns. Anyway I think it may come good with a late goal (do Norwich do it any other way ) 2-1 to the Canaries. Here blue sky but fresh. And with MIL back from hospital the house is full of "trying to be helpful" family, and, helpers and nurses "who are helpful". And me with flu trying to avoid being in the same room as MIL. And they say it is Christmas????? At least two family left today so now everyone has a bed. Heaven knows what would have happened if I bought the 3 bedroom house down the road! Anyways must be positive. And 6 points would really cheer things up.
Not seen the blue sky for days here although quite mild for the trip to the Vic. I'm so glad the shortest day has already passed, onwards and upwards towards Spring.
We have several crucial injuries today, hopefully the fringe players can step up to the plate. I'm certainly hoping for 3 points.
What happened????????????????? I made a tea and it went from 3-2 to 3-4!!!!! Fire the manager. Buy 5 new players. But above all change the mince pie recipe At least not too much table position damage.
I didn't know that but glad it wasn't a serious injury that was my first thought. Well hopefully normal service will be resumed soon. To be fair it was all down to bad timing. If you'd scored the late goal in the 91st minute and not the 81st you'd have won .
Morning all, dry, sunny and warmer in rural France. On return from the baker I had a deer rush across the road in front of me, so a sudden hard press on the brake pedal. A car that was just about to overtake pulled back in, and followed at my steady pace after that. There are hunters out and about and my son in law is a bit twitchy as he is logging up the trees he felled down my fields. I must go down and reassure him that they are some distance away.
Those red hat hunters (I don't mean Bassini!) are dangerous especially after a liquid lunch. We broke our wing mirror colliding with a deer in the Tarn.
Morning all. A rather Misty morning, but the promise of sunshine later. Hope all goes well for you today Dave. Not sure what to do here. Mustn't forgot that all the shops will be closed tomorrow and sufficient food will be required to see us through.
