Another good result, when they got their goal back I was worried as they certainly had the upper hand for a while, but credit to the boys hanging in there and getting the winner.

Turbo seems to be enjoying his football, at last, it will be interesting to see if he pushes for a move in January, as he is playing regularly, whereas if he moves he could well go back to being an impact player. I guess depends on whether now he is chasing money or wants to play regularly.

I just hope now this team is now weakened in January as they have a reasonable chance of finishing in a half-decent position.

I really enjoyed it , even at 1-1 and when preston started getting on top , still felt like we could win it . Difference a few weeks makes is crazy . We were denied the most blatant penalty I've ever seen , and still not sure why Elphick tried to defend for them on our second goal , but was still good in the end

You seriously believe that? They have done it the last 3 years. He will sell if he deems the price right. The scary thing is if we sell Bowen circa 8 million that means they could run the club for another year.

A good win to end the year. Was interesting to hear Burns on the radio yesterday echoing my thoughts on Irvine going yesterday, and also what happens when Bowen and Grosicki go. if Adkins can get some of the overpaid ressies firing like Dicko/Toral etc. I will give him credit, not seen it so far. Maybe he needs to get a better coach if him and his staff aren't up to it, especially on the attacking side, but how that works with the Allams I have no idea. Hopefully we have a fighting chance of staying up anyway going into 2019.

First time I've been to a City game since Sheffield United away. For what it's worth, here's my thoughts on yesterday's game.

City looks streets ahead of the team which lost at Bramall Lane in early October. We are exciting to watch and look to be out to win the game rather than sit on the point. The camaraderie looks excellent among the group and the likes of Stewart, Henricksen and De Wijs look to be getting better all the time. Irvine, Bowen and Grosicki look like they can cause any team in this league problems and they were a real handful for Preston for pretty much the whole game. Elphick was very solid all game and he has clearly brought on the likes of De Wijs and Burke. He's going to be a massive loss if he returns to Villa as there's no way Ehab is going to be willing to find an adequate replacement.

The other thing which impressed me yesterday was how City managed the game. Aside from the first 20 minutes of the second half, I felt we dealt with Preston pretty well. Irvine's goal was just reward at that point in the first half and we continued to create decent chances. The one worry at half time was that we didn't score a second. The start of the second half was a bit ropey and we had to weather the storm for a good quarter of an hour. We'd have gone under earlier in the season but we seemed to just about hold our own. Again, that probably comes from increased confidence and a belief in each other as a team. I felt the tide of the second half swung with the penalty shout. I'm still not sure how the referee did not give that decision; I remember seeing Irvine get hacked down and was just waiting for the referee to point to the spot it felt that stonewall! It seemed to really rile our players up and unsettled Preston again. It did feel like we'd have a chance to score and luckily we did, as scruffy as it was.

Think this is our best run of form for nearly 3 years and it felt good at the end to celebrate 3 well-earned points. It clearly meant a lot to the players, particularly Henricksen who seems to be growing into his role as captain. We seem to be at a similar point to what we were at the end of last season were we look a competent Championship who with a bit time and useful additions could well make a challenge for the top 6. It's quite an average league and it's once again galling to think we're going to undermine our work with the 2 cretins in charge. The rest of the season will depend on January. I do feel that our run over the last 6 weeks may well just give us enough to survive, just a shame we have the petulant children we do running the club as we look like we could continue this run on into the 2nd half of the season.

Couldn't believe it when it wasn't given , usually i always think it looked a penalty but maybe the tv replay will show different , but that was so blatant even live I can only assume the officials had a draw on the coupon

Nobody, no one, no ****er, is ever entitled to go down. If you go down, your'e a cheat and you didn't win. You didn't do well. You can't grin that **** eating grin.

    The trophies you won.

    You didn't win them.

The back slapping you got from your team mates... It's worthless.

You can't lie in bed at bed at night and smile that real smile.

    Not that real smile.

The Preston player did the 'got the ball' sign to the ref which he duly accepted. So no not a whoosh, more a observation of the Preston player's desperate, and succesfull, attempt to get out of it. Dreadful refereeing.

We thought it was definitely a penalty. Also really enjoyed the telling off that Markus gave the ref (who was poor throughout). Favourite song of the day was the North Hull doesn't have a rugby team but there's a library on Greenwood Ave. - it'll never catch on but we enjoyed it.
