Pontus Jansson v Blackburn 89% pass accuracy 81 touches 58/65 successful passes 10 ball recoveries (most on pitch) 3 tackles won 3 interceptions (most for Leeds) 3 successful take-ons 2 clearances 2 blocks 1 shot
Look at her reaction when she realises she's been bought an Alioski Macedonia shirt. Imagine Leon's reaction...
In regards to BPF and a new keeper for January, I like the lad, he has a great future ahead of him but in two games we have needed to score 6 goals to secure the points, the opposition have had four shots on target and scored four goals, BPF hasn't saved a shot in those two games, without injury time we would have been outside the auto's and you would have to say it would be BPF's fault -------------------------- BBC Sport - Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds would be a staggering 15 points clear of third place if their games had started from half-time..... Just shows how fit Bielsa has managed to get them
Thought the pundits were a bit harsh on him re the villa goal, feels like the sky guys are over-analysing every goal we concede... he also made a really good reflex save at 2-2. Not defending today though. Today’s loss would have been on him and Ayling.
51 pts and safe, probably top of the league at the end of 2018. I'm expecting a much better year next year, on so many fronts, so really looking forward to the next 22 games.
After a comfortable first-half we conspired to create our own downfall firstly giving away a stupid penalty, then we gifted a poor Blackburn side the lead. We spent too much time choosing the wrong options, taking one touch too many allowing the Blackburn defence to defend far too easily. Once the clock was ticking against us we finally woke up to the fact we needed to deliver the ball into the danger areas far quicker.....result two goals providing an unbelievable finish sending our fans into sheer ecstasy at the death. Great celebrations, best I've seen at ER in a while Positives Unbelievable comeback Spirit & resilience to keep going even when we're not playing well Three points Jansson's outstanding display, international/premiership class Roofe's goals Pablo's pinpoint cross for Roofe's superb header Another commanding performance from Kalvin Phillips playing the centre-back role :eng: We played some lovely football in a comfortable first-half Negatives We need a new keeper Ayling's stupid challenge Missed chances Losing to a poor Rovers side going into added-on-time after gifting them both goals Some woeful passing from our midfield Too much fannying about around the box Yet another poor free-kick from Douglas Ratings 04 - Peacock-Farrell 05 - Ayling 10 - Jansson 09 - Phillips 05 - Douglas 06 - Forshaw 07 - Alioski 06 - Hernandez 06 - Klich 06 - Harrison 09 - Roofe Subs 06 - Clarke 07 - Shackleton
We’ve had a problem against other top teams in previous seasons. Not under Bielsa. Looking at the other teams in the top 6: 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 defeat, average of 2.0 points a game. Four of the five games were away too (though tbh I’m not sure being away makes it any harder for us). Norwich - A - win 0-3 WBA - A- loss 4-1 Sheffield U - A- win 0-1 Boro - H - draw 0-0 Derby - A - .win 1-4 4 away - 3 wins, 1 loss - 9 goals for, 5 against 1 home - 1 draw 0-0
To be fair, nothing he could do about Abraham’s goal, and Mulgrew’s first was a penalty, so hardly his fault. Definitely responsible for Mulgrew’s second today, and didn’t judge Hourihane’s effort well at all against Villa. Also he made at least one cracking reflex save v Villa, so he’s definitely made a save in the past two games. In a way, I think he’s almost a victim of our success - we’re often so dominant that the opposition only have one or two efforts on target, and whilst he has made a few howlers, I feel like these are amplified significantly. If he made 10 superb saves before/after the mistake, although it wouldn’t make us forget the error, it would help to mitigate it slightly. That said, if we can attract better in January, we absolutely should, if it helps us get promotion. Might be a concentration thing as well, considering we have so much of the ball in every game. Interesting fact regarding keepers though: Mignolet and Karius at Liverpool were both massively vilified last year and yet Allison is already responsible for more mistakes leading to goals in the league than either of them were last year! Goes to show that the odd howler happens to the best of them. BPF still has huge potential if he can iron out certain parts of his game.

Agreed 64,.....just to add my 2 penneth worth, We were playing like we were confident of winning, but weren't playing to win, which, imo brought about complacency in patches and quite a few mistakes. As you said, it wasn't till we were behind 2-1 that we woke up and realised "we're losing this" Credit to the lads for not giving up and settling for a draw though. If anyone didn't believe in Deja Vu before, I bet you do now.
It was a penalty. A player was in between the camera and the incident, but Aylings follow through shows he went in studs up.
All I will say is that if that had been the other way round, I'd have been screaming for a penalty for us
