There is a concern of Jamie Vardy but he should be fit to return leaving Daniel Amartey the only player missing. So here is what I would go with Schmeichel Ricardo Morgan Maguire Chilwell Albrighton Mendy Ndidi Choudhury Maddison Vardy Subs- Ward, Evans, Fuchs, Iborra, Gray, Ghezzal, Iheanacho
Wouldn’t change the side personally, great result Saturday so stick with it. I do think there’ll be a backlash from Man City though and we don’t have the consistency to get back to back results against the big boy. Best case 1-3, goal difference could be damaged further...
#lcfc starting XI to face #mcfc (4-3-3): Schmeichel (GK); Ricardo, Morgan (C), Maguire, Chilwell; Choudhury, Mendy, Ndidi; Albrighton, Vardy, Maddison. Happy with that. Come on boys!
Great win - what a goal to win it by Ricardo as well! https://streamja.com/pr5m We were the best team on the pitch and it was deserved.
Great result, did not expect that. Just proves we are capable and makes the daft defeats all the more frustrating.
Thoroughly deserved. Felt they were less threatening than Chelsea albeit an away side. This young side is only going to get better. Those that know him, please keep Richard Clifton there, clearly a lucky charm given the last two games.
Forget that rocket a min. What a performance from Ricardo. Had Sane in his back pocket. Bloke was a complete liability a few weeks back. All all knew and hoped he would improve but to improve as much as he has in such a short space of time is incredible. What a performance and to score the winner. Superb Great to see Albrighton chipping in with some goals. Only thing missing in his game. I thought every player was superb today I really really hope this has been the lightbulb moment for Puel. Past 2 game was have been organised, exciting, and dangerous going forward What a bunch of twats some of our fans was though booing Riyad Mahrez. Embarrasing
Difficult thing is now we have to change the team. Mendy, Ndidi and Choudhury wont work against Cardiff, we need to be more attacking and creative. Matt Piper said rest Mendy and Ndidi and play Choudhury with Iborra which would be a good idea IMO and then having a fresh Mendy and Ndidi against Everton.
Nah just play it. If it doesn’t work then we can change at half time. It’s not as negative as it looks as it allows N’didi to push forward and Maddison and Albrighton stay up a bit, as well as the full backs
Some credit to Claude Puel ... got his tactics right today ... we are growing as a team and nobody will be looking forward to playing us currently... how many pundits would have predicted us picking up 6 points from Chelsea away followed by Man City at home?
Him and Chilwell have improved beyond recognition. We should be where we are now, we have without much doubt the best GK, Striker and wing backs outside the top 6. Maguire one of the best CB’s? Still a couple of pieces missing but we are getting there slowly but surely. I’m also glad to see variation to Puels system and style to suit the opposition. Cardiff game will tell us a lot. Re your second post below, Maddison could be one of the 3 for those kind of games with Albrighton and Gray supporting Vardy? Obviously an area that needed strengthening. I’m not a fan of booing Mahrez, I also don’t cheer him as his behaviour left distaste in my mind but indifference is one thing, not booing him
I think @MARTIN IS BACK AGAIN predicted it Awesome return though, the kind of games and results we want to be in this league for. We really need to back it up with 3 points at home to Cardiff though!
Puel deserves great credit when he sets us up like that. We looked dangerous going forward and could have won by more. This slow sideways passing has disappeared since reports of him being on borrowed time. Yes tactics have to change against Cardiff as they will let us have the ball more and dont have the same quality but Puel has to realise where are strengths lay and stick with them else we will go around in circles again and I dont think he will last much longer if that is the case
