In the SPIRIT of the season I must pass on the tip I’ve had for Spirit of Hale ... seems the trainer thinks he’s going to prevail easily after his prep run at bangor ... a drop in class and a 5lb drop in eight plus young O’Neill’s claim . Let’s hope she’s right - good luck to all
Been out early helped muck out 50 horses this morning even had time for a quick ride round to the chicken farm. It was lovely just me the mrs and a couple of liveries. No one about nice and quiet apart for the birds singing their Christmas chorus. Anyway hopefully start Boxing Day with a nice winner at my favourite track Huntingdon in the first red admirable well handicapped with a nice claimer and a nice price 16/1
Really like Bags Groove for the Feltham @5/1. The Hendo nag has already been backed as if defeat is out of the question but I've been very impressed with BG over the big uns this season. He's definitely more experienced over fences than Santini. Although he won well enough in the end on his chase debut he was hardly foot perfect at all his obstacles. Le Bague Au Roi is no mug either. 2 really top races at Kempton tomorrow.
My darts at tomorrow bumpers Down Royal grey exchange Sedgefield heads up clemmie Wincanton flic ou voyou Huntington Passing shadows Forgot Leopardstown goodbye someday (although Derek o Connor comes over from down royal for o brien) Great day with all the meets Gluck
Thought I'd pop the head in to wish everyone a Happy Christmas! All is well with me and will try post more in the New Year! Huge, huge fan of Waiting Patiently in the King George and think he'll take the step up to 3m in his stride. Think he'll drift out to about 6/1 at one point tomorrow given the less fashionable trainer and although its not a lump bet for me certainly will be a backer (against two horses I really like in Native River & Might Bite) Handicaps have always been where I've made my dough and 3.20 Wetherby Lester Kris 12/1 looks really interesting to me on handicap debut. Running for the in form Micky Hammond yard, it's very interesting to see Joe Colliver dash from riding an odds on shot at Sedgefield at 1.30 to make the last here when surely he could have picked up a ride at Sedgefield with this trainer having other runners there (most shorter prices). Lester Kris very much caught the eye on his stable debut at Catterick last month under this pilot when he didn't look too knocked about in 3rd and with the from looking decent I think his opening mark underestimates him. Micky Hammond like a winner on Stephens Day and had 2 on the card at Wetherby last year and I think this one should hopefully land the spoils. Caraline 6/1 bolted in in the same 1.35 Wetherby contest last year off a stone lower mark and I think she's been aimed at this race again. Despite being pulled up on her reappearance, she had a similar run on her return last year when tailed off and I think she should be spot on for this. She's only 4lb below the mark she signed off with victory last season and hopefully Micky can repeat his feat of achieving a double on the cards with these two this year.
Good hear you will be making some more appearances! And look forward to the right ups again!!! Some absolute stormers in the past!!
One I extremely like tomorrow - 1.20 Kempton- Glen Forza - 9/2 Stable won this last year with Mr Whittaker they think the world of this horse and they thibk he can be better than the for mentioned. He vastly improved for the switch to fences just over a month ago which he won over 3m at Chepstow and Altho gone up 11lbs for that win the form has been franked by quite a few horses behind him have won or ran extremely good races to be placed and he still has some improvement to come. He will run from the front and say come and get me over this shorter trip
My 2 favourite horses in training running today so a “Barney Rubble” on Didtheyleaveuoutto and Waiting Patiently. Should pay around 16.5/1
BTW forget the 3lbs Thomas Darby is getting, Didtheyleaveuoutto will love track and ground, expect Geraghty to be motionless
