Absolutely, after the Swansea game I thought we were totally f*cked but all credit to Schteeve he has turned that watershed disaster and the 'frank team inquest' after that game into a team that has grit, determination and bottle and now knows how to see out a game. It's now the halfway point of the season and if you had said after those first four games we'd be 10th with 34 points the men in white coats would have been on standby. I still think the play-offs might just be beyond us but who knows in this crazy league? More performances like today and we might just sneak in. Still, happy Christmas to all concerned, a last we have something to celebrate...
The most honest assessment of the season so far "It's now the halfway point of the season and if you had said after those first four games we'd be 10th with 34 points the men in white coats would have been on standby. I still think the play-offs might just be beyond us but who knows in this crazy league? More performances like today and we might just sneak in."
If we discount the first four games ( yes I know it's cheating a bit, but ... ) we have 34 points from 19 games which works out at 1.789 points per game. If we continue at that rate for the second half of the season we would end up on 75/76 points. Last season Derby finished in 6th place on 75 points. It's highly unlikely though as the inevitable injuries and suspensions take there toll.
I thought I was going to get rebuked over the incorrect use of 'there' instead of the possessive 'their' Ubes.
Interesting analysis. Do we want to sneak into the playoffs, win with a lot of luck then get battered in the PL for a season?
