97% of the troops in the French army are assigned to the Catering Corps which is a hangover from Napoleon's jibe that an army marches on its stomach. It is also why they always get a thrashing in battle, taking on the enemy with most of your troops armed only with a soup ladle is not the way to win a war.

I don;t rush the meal, just want to start with the main. Plenty of time to eat that and drink and listen.

Other guest, a poster from here, some knowledgeable, esteemed poster. A witty, interesting person with an in depth football knowledge. Yep you have guessed it, all the way from Northampton FL, I mean Jonny Shuttle.

Disappointed, no goat on the menus this year.

    Just a main.

Roast beef and turkey, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings, parsnips and a bit of veg.
    Definitely no sprouts.
