Hmmmm...interesting, lived in Pune for 9 months, then on and off again for the following 2 years, it's an alright place to live but bloody frustrating. They are big into football though
There are many many many things frustrating about living in Pune, the list of irritating things would take me a while to type out, one prime example though.....the PMC (Pune Municipal Corporation) who run the city once decided, back in 2012 time, that ALL private pools would be closed down whilst a safety audit was carried out, I only found this out when I strolled down to the hotel pool in my skimpies to have a relaxing afternoon only to be told the pool was closed for up to 2 weeks
Other general things....traffic is horrendous, takes an age to get anywhere, constant power cuts for the 3 months over monsoon season, water shortages, far too much building work going on - over the past 15 years the ave temperature has risen over 10 degrees during peak time as a result of all the additional concrete everywhere
I know Pune very well too!! I’ve stayed in the Westin hotel many times.... the penthouse nightclub next door is epic, almost like a Miami vibe!!
Football is surprisingly popular in parts of India which is basically a cricket country. The largest ever attendance for a sporting event in India was 130,000 for this lot. Not as big as the derby in Hull obviously though... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46591260
Lived on nibm Road first of all, in a residence then used to stay in hotels, mainly in and around koregon Park, soho is my absolute favorite place in pune, hyderabad chicken and lamb boti kebab starters..... Immense.....
